Is there a term to describe that some normal characters become losers in later seasons, especially in comedy shows?

Futurama, Zoidberg: A weird doctor in season 1 --> a complete loser from season 2.

Simpsons, Moe: A bartender in season 1 -> ugly & hate-filled loser that even his parents did not love in later seasons.

Family Guy, Joe: A handicapped but healthy cop in season 1 -> a man with serious mental issues in later seasons.

Sergeant Keroro, Dororo: A ninja in season 1 -> Presence-less loser with childhood traumas from season 2.
