I thought most states had laws against recording people in cars, homes, or anywhere there's an expectation of privacy without consent. Could Chuck actually, in real life, use that as evidence in court? He did use it in the bar hearing session, and I'm guessing that wasn't a real court (was it?). So I'm wondering how realistic that situation is.
