[SPOILERS]The moment, the show went downhill

Alright, before I start, just wanted to put this first: If you're tired of people „bitching“ about the show, then don't bother reading any further. No, I won't be „bitching“. Just expressing my opinion here. If you don't like it, feel free to disagree, but as the user rules say: Don't be a jerk.

Now, about the main topic: Many of you guys are not too happy about the show anymore. Neither am I. But when did it go downhill for you?

To me, it definitely was episode 7x02, that ruined it all. It's hands down the most boring episode in the show ever. No actual development on the events of 7x01, boring dialogues, cringy people everywhere and so on. Someone in here already wrote, that it would've been way better to pick up right where 7x01 ended: To show our group returning to Alexandria. Desperate, mourning over the deaths of our beloved members of the group. But no, we got none of that. Instead we get to see our group in 7x04.

And 7x04 was another episode, that made the show even worse. To me, it was a perfect example of how you can ruin a great character. I'm talking about Negan. The build up until we finally met him was amazing. We've seen Rick in 6x16 from being all cocky to being desperate and hopeless in front of his new nemesis. The tension when Negan first showed himself was unbelievable. He gave off a threatening vibe and presented himself as someone, who is not to be fucked with.

That whole vibe was gone after 7x04, maybe even after 7x03. I don't know if it was the acting or the bad writing, we've been experiencing, but none of the intimidation and tension around him was there anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love JDM, but something about how he acted in 7x01 and how he proceeded to present this character or how this character was written, is just off to me. Can't really put my finger on it, so I'll leave it there.

Another thing are the useless sub-plot episodes in between. I'm talking about the whole Tara-Oceanside thing. Instead of giving her a whole episode, give our group, who has just been through hell, an episode to mourn their loved ones! I mean, what the hell, I'd rather have Tara come back alone and then explaining to the group what happened, then making a whole episode about meeting a new group, we literally are going to see just one more time for the whole season and doesn't even add anything to the main plot all.

Talking about new groups: Our group in Alexandria already HAS to deal with the Saviors. And then we get another freaky enemy in 7x09 or whenever they were introduced: The Scavengers or Heapsters or whatever you want to call them. Not only is it unnecessary at this point, to introduce another enemy, they're also beyond uninteresting. Some freaks that steal stuff and talk weird. Yeah, wow. Not. If at least, they would've been a scary and unpredictable enemy, but no, I don't find them to be either. The Wolves were a perfect example of a sub-enemy, that was presented well. They were introduced in season five until we got to see their cruel nature in season 6. They were very interesting and killed off way to soon, but that's just my opinion. It would've also been way more interesting, if they kept the Alpha wolf guy alive, instead of killing him of.

You probably get my point: It got worse and worse literally episode after episode from 7x01 onwards. From this point on, I cared less and less about the next episodes. Bad writing, boring sub-plots and boring characters all add up, to my once favorite show being a boring show, where people kill each other, live in peace, then another people show up, more killing, boring sub-plots, etc.

From which episode did the show go downhill for you guys?
