In “Kafkaesque” Jesse is at an NA meeting when he begins telling a story about wanting to make something, relaying a memory of high school shop class where he made a box that, by his own admission, was subpar. Mr. Pike, the teacher asked him: “Is that the best you can do?” His first thought was yes, but decided to keep trying until he had this exquisite box that was above and beyond normal quality.
Think back to Jesse and Badger out in the desert when Jesse throws the meth away and starts over because it’s not the best he can do. Mr. white is the Mr. Pike parallel and once that bug was put into Jesse’s Head.
