Having the civilians now seriously distrusting the military, they eventually would rebel, led by Madison.
Madison assumes power and has to make the tough choices of exiling people, refusing entry to refugees, and other morally challenging decisions.
All the surviving safe zones in LA would link up and try to keep things together until it all eventually fails.
That was basically what I was hoping for in season 1.
