It seems to the naked eye that Gale would complement Walt because he respects chemistry, studied it and got his masters/PhD, and is someone who "listens to reason." So why did Walt call Gus after the first time cooking with Gale to tell him that things are not working out between the two of them? This happens around the 31:31 mark on the episode, on Netflix at least.
