[SPOILERS] Just finished book 1

I have re-watched the show numerous times, and for the past four months I have been reading about a chapter or two a day during my hour long lunches at the office. I just want to say, this book is a masterpiece. There was so much raw emotion, imagery, and foreshadowing, and I loved every minute of it. My favorite two chapters had to be during Arya's perspective when Ned dies, and Sansa's perspective after Ned dies. I have never cried from a book, but these two scenes got too me. I had a bunch of people in my office asking me if everything was alright.

Then you can really feel the passion when Job was racing to go met his brother at Riverrun. The show did a good portrayal of this scene, but the book's version had so much emotion throughout the chapter. My favorite line is when he Jon goes back to the Wall and Mormont was telling him how he knew Jon would come back. Jon then intended to honor and keep his vow, even though it means giving up his family. In his internal monolgue he asks his father, Arya, Rob, and Brandon to forgive him. That was such a great line by GRRM. I know Sansa has been cold towards him, and I was wondering if that was the reason he did not mention her name along with the others seeing as how she is being kept prisoner in Kings Landing.
