[SPOILERS] I just finished Winds of Winter. Wow (Please don’t put season 7 spoilers I haven’t watched it yet)

I’m watching the show for the first time and I just finished the season 6 finale. This is easily one of the best television episodes I’ve ever seen. Everything about it is amazing. The performances are some of the best in the show imo and it’s directed and shot amazingly. The sequence leading up to the burning of the Sept of Baelor expertly builds tension and fills you with dread as you realize everyone in the sept will die. The still shot of the window through which Tommen throws himself to his dear works really well because it’s quick and doesn’t give you time to dwell on it. It just moves on which kind of leaves you stunned for a bit. Cersei claiming the iron throne is haunting. She’s a woman who has lost everything. Her father and all her children are dead and she was publicly humiliated. You can tell that she’s out for revenge and will stop at nothing to get it. Finally, I thought it was really cool how there were multiple parallels to earlier parts of the series. Jon Snow becomes the king in the north like Robb before him, Dany has to tell Daario that they can’t be together similarly to how Tyrion had to with Shae, and Arya kills Walder Frey just how Catelyn was killed. There are many other great things about the episode but I’m already writing too much.

Tl;dr the winds of winter is amazing and one of the best tv episodes I’ve ever seen. Sorry I wrote so much I just wanted to tell someone about it bc none of my friends watch GoT
