The biggest complaint I've heard about BCS is that it's too slow, or that nothing happens in some episodes, but for me this is no argument. It may be an argument when comparing it to BrBa (a comparison NO show can win), but it's completely worthless in my eyes.
Quite a Ride (S4E5) opens with the most straight forward opening of the series so far, actually showing Saul getting ready to "disappear" . While we're at that - was this scene actually shot or just directly taken out of one of the last few BrBa episodes? Perfect fan service and important character piece at once.
Than we have Jimmy actually doing something very "Saul-ish" - illegally selling phones to junkies, or generally people on the pub. The greatest stuff was when he sold it to the Bikers, built a lot of tension and ended with a small comedic relief. And that's the great thing. It didn't end good for Jimmy as he was beaten by the three teenagers which was a pretty strong punch in the gut.
Then we also see the consequences that the actions of Chuck, Kim, Jimmy & Howard have - Kim is over her head with Mesa Verde and makes mistakes, and Howard has insomnia and is far away from the confident man of the beginning of the show.
One of my favorite scenes was Gus plan on building the freaking meth lab. We spent a lot of time with the engineers, and got that diabolic smile out of Gustavo - who just happens to also speak German.
Like every episode, this one was filled with superb editing and framework. It also had near perfect cinematography and sound design, but the performances were truly standout.
What do you think about this episode?
