The Winner Takes it All cold open mirrored Chuck and Jimmy's relationship

I wouldn't be surprised if this was something already discussed here, but I was watching this scene and it struck me how similar the progression of the scene was similar to their overall relationship. At first, Jimmy was the center of attention, but he was completely off pitch. As Chuck described it, Jimmy was always the center of attention for their family. We especially see this in their mother's death scene. Jimmy being off pitch showed how Jimmy made a lot of bad decisions early in his life. Meanwhile, Chuck sang very well, showing how his early life was successful and he followed the right path.

As they begin to sing together, Jimmy's singing starts to improve, just as Jimmy's life started to turn around with Chuck's help. Soon they even start to sing together. Chuck was able to stand the idea of them being on equal footing/status for a little while, but soon he takes the microphone from Jimmy to sing on his own. There are obvious parallels to how Chuck reacted to Jimmy becoming a lawyer.

Maybe this is a a high school level interpretation of the scene, I just thought it was really interesting and wanted to share.
