One thing I like about early seasons of twd is that there's usually one main story per episode. Yes there were branches of that story, but our cast were together for a common purpose, whether that be surviving in the camp or trying to find Sophia.
Now we've thrown a bunch of characters into s5 who really don't link with each other in any way that it makes it a mess.
Dwight with trying to find/deal with sherry. Morgan with still trying to become wholesome. Troy with his second life as either a reformed saint or revenge-seeking masochist. Daniel with his feud? against strand. Strand and Alicia with getting screen time or story.
I swear to god if the overarching story is everyone trying to help a dirty woman then fml
