So the whisperers had a standoff with the hilltop where they were hostile, but we're true to their word and made a fair deal, Lydia for two of their men. I thought it was well written because it makes sense the mother would want her daughter back, and there's no way the whisperers would have been able to take on the hilltop in combat. Yet the whisperers are still a threat and there is conflict due to the fact our survivors feel bad about Lydia.
The vultures had some stupid idea of camping outside a community until it fell. This could have taken a day, a week or a year but they still waited. They exposed themselves to the risk of being attacked by walkers, as well as wasted their own time for little reward. Even if we accept that they lost and retreated, the vultures then exacted revenge by attacking the stadium?? So their whole threat was bullshit, we didn't see our survivors overcome an obstacle because the vultures just turned into a 'wahey we're gon kill you all'. It's incredibly weak writing.
