S05. SPOILERS IF NOT UP TO THIS EPISODE. So my job has something to do with radiation. I’ve been behind on The Walking Dead and have caught up and then decided to watch FTWD. I’m just staring season 5 and they’ve introduced radioactive walkers and I’m puzzled by the “radiation resistant suit” that she’s wearing and the “Geiger counter” (which is actually a survey meter) as well as the dosimeter.. None of these things are correct. The only thing that blocks radiation is time, distance, and matter. Yes organic matter can absorb radiation but you can’t just put on a tyvek suit and call it a day. You need led shielding or you run up to it real fast and sprint like hell away. And the dosimeters didn’t look like your instant ones. If it did it would only bee good for up to 200 mR. After that it’s useless unless you have a badge to send in (which I doubt you could do considering everything’s dead). And then the surgery meter that she’s wearing is acting like a Geiger counter. Survey meters don’t act this way. They are just a meter that goes up and down depending on the mR and tenths setting that is on. Then she said that she didn’t have any water to cleanse anyone of the radiations... that’s not how that works. There is no cure. Radiation kills WBCs and organic matter so I’m confused about these things...
