It's interesting that so many people wanted and expected Daenerys to not storm King's Landing with her forces because she ''might'' kill someone innocent, when Stannis was willing to do the same thing with HIS forces and no one hated him for it (some even called him the Mannis long after this, even GRRM calls him a ''righteous man'') and when even Robb was planning to storm the city in a bid to save his father's life, even calling all his banners. Never mind the fact that even in real life, going to the enemy base or nation is kind of important at times to fully defeat the enemy. The Allies didn't just attack Nazi Germany from outside, they went inside at one point and even battled the Nazis there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Allied_invasion_of_Germany#Montgomery_launches_Operation_Plunder_(23_March))
The reality is, sometimes in war, you have to go in and fight the enemy in a place where civilians also live. While that does not justify killing civilians willy nilly, it does kind of weaken the excuse Tyrion and many far-left liberal types today have towards war and conflict. Sometimes the only way vicious tyrants such as Joffrey, Cersei, or Hitler can be removed (and innocent people on both sides be protected) is through direct war and movement to defeat the enemy leadership.
I've also seen people accusing Dany of trying to take King's Landing from Cersei, because that might end up killing people. Never mind the fact that literally no one had a problem with Jon and Sansa wanting to retake the North from the Boltons, even though a lot of the Northern houses actually swore fealty to the Boltons anyway. Never mind the fact that when it comes to Dany's war, the possibility of killing innocents or the tragedy of killing normal farmers or peasants who just happen to be soldiers exists, but the same is not true when it came to the Starks and their allies fighting Bolton soldiers on the field. Why do Lannister troops get humanized but not those on the Starks' opposite side? Are we really supposed to believe there weren't innocents even in a Bolton-ruled Winterfell who might have gotten killed or worse?
