Last Week Tonight with John Oliver having no audience highlights the genius of the show.

Since the quarantine, John Oliver has been hosting his weekly show from an empty studio. At first, the lack of a laughing audience was awkward as you expect it after every sentence.

I tend to find shows fall flat when you remove the laughing track but as I became used to it half way through the 1st episode, I really keyed in on the writing and delivery. I still found myself laughing out loud at Olivers delivery. His political satire stands up without the laugh cues and it's a testament to the writing of the show.
