I just finished watching the second to last episode in the show, and I can’t shake the feeling that it should have been it. The story comes full circle in so many ways, and the ending just has the feeling of completeness that Face Off had (season 4 finale). The way he watches as the work he’s done for his family unravels, how he watches as Grey Matter shakes him off as they did before, and as he almost turns himself in, but cheats punishment as he always does. In addition, we see Andrea die and Jesse get caught, making a perfect foil to Walt’s cheating death. And finally, after he places the call on himself and we think it’s over, the theme song rolls in as the police investigate the bar, and the song hits the hardest as we see the drink he’s left behind. I just think that in the next episode, Walt is going to die, which is completely off brand for his character. This ending gives us the mysterious vibe that resonates around Walt himself, leaving us to think about where he might have gone, just like every other character. With that being said, I’m going to watch the finale tomorrow and evaluate my thoughts here, so please don’t spoil that episode.
