A scene I can't understand until now

THIS CONTAINS A SPOILER AS STATED FOR SEASON 1 EPISODE 1 OR 2 I CAN'T REMEBER CLEARLY.

I just finished Season (9), yeah 9 not 1. but i remembered something that until now can't understand from season 1.

When Morgan takes Rick to his house and tells him about his wife and how she died and became a walker.Ok that all makes sense but..... how did Morgan's wife every night come to the door And put the key in the door.

PS: I don't remember clearly as I didn't rewatch the episode, but if i stated something wrong please tell me
