I have a feeling my thoughts encompass the general consensus but I still would like to chat with you all about it!
The end was...okay I guess? I mean it did wrap up everyone's storyline pretty well but it just didn't feel good. It didn't really have that emotional pull that other great series finales have had for me.
I was mad at Dany. I could understand her anger at losing her friend and two dragons and Jon, but I didn't love her anymore. I honestly didn't have much love for her since her time in Mereen.
I think it was right for Jon to go back North, but that made the whole Targaryen twist totally unimportant. It seemed silly to have even made that a plot point to begin with.
Arya going off to discover the world- sure. Sansa being queen of the North- sure. Those were cool and good endings for those characters. Bran being King? Thaaaat's a bit more of a stretch for me. I like that they wanted to "break the wheel" but it just didn't make sense.
And Jamie and Cersei's death?? Talk about completely unsatisfying.
I loved this show, but the final season just fell flat for me. I don't know what could have gone better, but I think there was a lot of missed opoortunity for such a long running and successful show.
