Okay. I know how the walking dead people can get electrical power forever. The walkers evidently don't follow conservation of energy. There have been walkers locked in dark places flailing about for 1.5 years by season 5. Some of these dark places didn't appear to have a source of chemical energy. One that comes to mind was locked in a car. Either the walkers go into hibernation when off camera or they just have energy forever since chemical synthesis and photosynthesis appear to be off the table.
Assuming they have energy forever, the main characters need to capture several walkers. From there, build human sized hamster wheels that are sealed to prevent escape. Attached the hamster wheels to electrical generators. Use a portion of the energy to produce some kind of sound in a direction in front of the wheels. The walkers seem to follow sound. They chase the sound and there it is! Power forever!!! No wind? No combustibles? No sun? No problem! It's walker power, baby.
