(Spoilers probably)
I've watched this series a few times through already and there are some intros that still intrigue me no matter how often I've rewatched them. Particularly two intros in season three: 1) episode one where the group has just lost the farm and have been living rough hopping from house to house. Lori's pregnancy is showing way more, a few enter the house swiftly and make sure it's clear, the rest come in and they all sit to rest for a bit while T-dog guards at the window. They're all in silence before and after T-dog gestures a quick "psst" and they all quickly grab their shit and get out of the house and into the cars immediately, just in time to evade the walkers. It's as impressive to me as the first time I saw it, and I can still hear my boyfriend's words ringing in my head, "damn, they've gotten so much better at the whole apocalyptic living thing". They're more organized, more used to running, less argumentative over how the world use to or should be. They've got entrance plans, escape plans, even though they're all terrified they still just act. Maggie runs to grab the ax before running back to the car, no one screams at the sight of walkers anymore. 2) When they take the prison and Hershel gets bit in the leg. Those prisoners watch through the cafeteria window as this random bunch of dirty strangers burst into the room in a panic as one of them just starts hacking away at the old guy's leg and some dude with a crossbow stands pointing it at them cautiously. I mean, to think what goes through the mind of those prisoners, and that cherry on the cake that is the group hustling to roll Hershel out of the room, leaving behind his dismembered foot for the prisoners to contemplate.
I feel like I should also mention that the Netflix feature to "skip intro" has been amazing, but there are some shows for which I absolutely never press it (namely Stranger Things and Narcos). The walking dead is also one of the shows that the scary theme song is a fantastic inclusion to the entire show, it gets me right into the mood for some gruesome storytime. Bravo, Bear McCreary.
Anyway, just wanted to share some of my excitement in case anyone else has also felt this.
