...to be cut very short. He makes one attempt to take King's Landing, goes north, captures Mance Rayder, attacks Ramsey, and dies. Only Renly had a shorter run.
It seems like his story arc was cut short by DnD for some reason. I also don't see how Ramsey had four times Stannis's army even if Stannis lost half. And why would Stannis, a capable military commander, be so caught off guard by a calvary charge? It seems like he was killed off to just close out his faction and the war of the five kings plot thread. This seems like a waste to me.
