Hi guys, I'm working on a new crazy asoiaf theory. We all know that TWOW has been in development for way too many years now. Well I just caught a little nugget. In this video: George RR Martin on People Harassing Him For Not Writing - YouTube, GRRM explains that internet culture and instant gratification is affecting his ability to finish the book. Specifically at about 4:05, he states that nowadays, if he wants to look up a question, he pulls up Google and he finds the answer in 2 minutes. He then clarifies that it could be *20 seconds*, depending on your internet connection. This led me to ask these questions:
Does GRRM have dial up? Is his internet connection affecting his ability to finish the book? Could his Microsoft Office be having difficulties connecting with the activation servers? Is the length of the book and internet speed affecting his ability to upload new editions to his publishers and editors?
I know this seems wild. But think about it. If GRRM has dial up, it could really hamper his working abilities. You guys try writing a novel with no internet resources. It's practically impossible now!
This might just be the craziest theory I've ever thought of. Crazier than R+L=J, crazier than A+J=J+C! Maybe we as a community should chip in and offer GRRM a fios update? let me know what you guys all think!!
