I was just rewatching the Battle of the loot train after the Lannisters defeat the Tyrells. Watching Dany with Drogon burn the Lannister army got me thinking.
HOW resilient, robust and adaptable the Lannister army is.
They were the first army in the field. They beat the Riverlords (sure to have taken some losses there).
Robb Stark joins the conflict and beats the shit out of them for two straight seasons before dying.
They managed to crush Stannis' army.
The losses to Robb must have been heavy though. We know for certain Robb destroyed two Lannister armies.
Then they have to retake what is left of the Riverlands still in support of Robb (Blackfish and his cronies. Some Riverlands houses are mentioned to be in rebellion in a Walder Frey scene season 6).
Then they have to scrap with the Tyrell army for a bit. After all of that, they have to take on the Dothraki, the Dragons, reorganised North-Riverlands, and the Vale.
We all know what happend in Kings Landing when Dany came.
Honestly its amazing there was still an army left to fight after all of that. 🤣🤣🤣
