I really loved the first season of Ted Lasso for this, e.g. However, the second season has a lot more deep character examination, darker themes, and less uplifting story beats.
I've also found the same with Mythic Quest, where S1 was a funny workplace comedy and S2 went more dark and the jokes became more sparse.
I've watched most of the acclaimed network sitcoms throughout the years. I want a show that's tonally like Leverage, but also high quality. The general state of the world for the past couple years has made me not want to watch the old/new HBO prestige dramas that I'm sure are great, but that I'm not in the mood for (Chernobyl, Oz, White Lotus, whatever else).
What is fun to watch?
