[EVERYTHING] Why a marriage between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen would not make sense in the long term.

With all the excitement of the upcoming 7th season, I got to thinking once again about the possible political marriage between Jon and Dany. While I wouldn't object to seeing the match on screen, I can think of several problems that would not make their union feasible:

  1. Daenerys will not be happy in letting The North remain independent, and Jon would not betray his lords by bending the knee right after being declared king. This means such a match could only happen with the prospect of Jon and Dany's future child inheriting both kingdoms.
  2. If they are to produce an heir, one of the monarchs would have to move to the others' seat of power. Neither the northern nor southern lords would be happy with their monarch essentially being a political hostage in another kingdom.
  3. If they are to live under the same castle, it would make it impossible for one of them to administer their kingdom from so far away. Jon could set up Sansa as his proxy in the North, but then that could just lead to more turmoil among his subjects.
  4. If it turns out Dany is indeed barren, then all of this would be for naught. Another succession crisis would plague Westeros once one or both of the monarchs dies.
  5. If Jon and Dany are able to produce a child, I rather think the northern lords would find it hard to accept being subjects of the Iron Throne once again even if their next ruler would have northern blood.

As you can see, my primary concern with a marriage between Jon and Daenerys is how their subjects would react to such a union. Ultimately they would have to accept because their King's/Queen's word is final, but in my opinion it would not do well to breed resentment amongst your subjects like that.

In the short term their alliance would certainly be most beneficial, uniting their armies against Cersei and the White Walkers to bring peace to the realm once again. I just don't see how their union lends itself for the stability of the realm in the long term. Anyways, I'm curious what other fans of the show and books think about this. Is it a bad idea, a good one, or an ugly one?

tl;dr: While a marriage alliance between Jon and Dany would help them in the short term to defeat their enemies and bring forth peace, they’re just setting themselves up for another succession crisis in the future.

EDIT 1: I understand that Dany's marriage prospects are pretty much limited to Jon only, but the fact that this is her best option shows how dire the state of things are. In a world with dragons and walking corpses, I agree that things have to change dramatically in order for the realm to carry on.

EDIT 2: All my points are assuming their marriage actually happens. Im not considering other things that might happen. Personally I believe that Jon will marry some northern lord's daughter, speacially after some of the season 7 leaks that have been going around.
