Re-watching Arrested Development. I almost forgot that the show is the work of an absolute mad genius

I don't think any other show is as layered with jokes as this show, it's insane. The running gags keeping building on top of each other. In one scene there are recuring character gags, references to actors earlier work, visual background gags, regular comedy dialogue and added on top of that the jokes from the narrator, the cut away jokes and the list goes on and on. It's almost overwhelming how much is going on, yet it never takes away from the story that is going on in the episode.
