[spoilers] Negan can't die. He's too great a villain.

After watching him kill 2 of my favorite characters and completely break Rick, make Sasha willing to kill herself, turn Eugene to a bad guy, I hated Negan so much I had to walk away for a couple weeks to process these things as the occurred. But as the season progressed I started to realize how great of a villain he is. JDM creates a terrifying character that is unique from so many other film villains that I believe he has earned his place among some of the better ones like Malcom McDowell from A Clockwork Orange, Heath Ledger's Joker, Jack Nicholson in the Shining and Departed, Kathy Bates in Misery, to name a few. His dialogue and mannerisms are great and his consistent change from murderous to the maniacal manipulative "nice guy" are fantastic. It adds a lot of depth to the character that makes me wonder what he was like before the world went sideways. At least the show version.

I don't think they can kill him. I think it would be so much better for all his leaders to suffer horrible fates and he just throws all the saviors under the bus to save himself. Show how little he cares for everyone and even those so loyal to him are expendable cannon fodder. Maybe have him escape to possibly return sometime in the future. Keep the threat alive in the back of everyone's mind. Maybe even follow him in a separate story line. Who knows. But I think his character needs to be preserved.
