The 20 minutes S7 EP3 spends on the meeting with Dany and Jon just reminded me so much of all the leaders that taught him and led him to be the man he is today
From Ned Stark teaching him honor and living by his honor, doing what's right even if it'll get you killed.
Jeor Mormont- who hand picked him as a steward to turn him into a leader.
Maester Aemon- who was brutally honest about leadership "You'll find little joy in your post but with luck you'll find the strength to do what needs to be done."
Mance Rayder- who taught him the responsibility of staying true to the people that put their trust in you to follow you despite their animosity to others that follow you.
This meeting is the fruit of all those years learning from great leaders. His humility dealing with Dany, refusing to bend the knee even if it means death, refusing to pledge the lives of the people that followed him to Dany's cause ("If you cant see why I won't enlist my people in a foreigners war then there's no point in debating anymore" Mance Rayder").
Jon Snow is one of my favorite Character arcs (along with Tyrion) and just watching him meet Dany made me remember all the men who had a hand in shaping him to become who he is today.
