Realistic or Fantastic?

I just finished binge watching the show. Unbelievable. What a finale!

The last scene in the finale, the machine gun rig, got me thinking. Is that even really possible? Like, how could he know that he was going to be able to get that perfect parking spot?

Also, how on earth does Walt know how to rig something like that up? I get that he knows about chemistry but an automatic gun turret?

Also, how does Jesse know how to unlock handcuffs with a paper clip? That also seems like a stretch.

On the other hand, sometimes the show seemed so realistic. I can't point to anything in particular but the whole show seemed pervaded with a gritty realism, Aside from the obvious absurdity of the premise. And even the premise of the show, as absurd as it was, is entirely possible.

Basically what I'm asking is, was this show meant to be realistic, fantastical, or somewhere in between? And if it was supposed to be somewhere in between, is there a name/classification for this type of show?
