How many more seasons do you think it will take to complete the story of Better Call Saul? I think this is the best show currently on tv (now that Twin Peaks is over) and that its patient, slow pace is part of what makes it great but when I consider how much story there is to still be potentially told, especially at the speed Better Call Saul goes, I really start to wonder how many season that will take. Just off the top of my head I feel the show still will cover Jimmy's response to Chuck's death, Kim and Jimmy's relationship deteriorating, Jimmy becoming Saul, Jimmy gathering the team of people we see work for him in Better Call Saul, Lalo's introduction, some resolution for Nacho, an explanation of whatever Jimmy is yelling about Lalo and Ignacio in Breaking Bad, Gus and Mike building Gus' meth empire, Gene, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting things and there are other things I would like to see that aren't even that necessary like more Howard or Jimmy during the Breaking Bad timeline. Anyway, that is a lot of story to get to and considering the show's slow rhythms it could take many seasons. I trust Vince and Peter and everyone else involved and think AMC will give them as many seasons as they want but I wonder if we'll ever see an increase of speed in the story telling. Or would that betray the tone of the show? Also I tend to think shows should never go longer than five or six seasons but it seems like Better Call Saul could stretch beyond that. Could the show's pace work against it and create a dip in quality by going on too long? There's nothing on tv as good as Better Call Saul right now and I have just been thinking about these things a lot so maybe a lot of this isn't relevant and the writers will find some satisfying way to subvert all of it.
