With the introduction of the zany, quirky, and dare-I-say-it “SJW-ish” Princess the Issue 171, the large majority of fans have already begun complaining about her.
I can certainly see why: she’s annoying, comes across as spoilt and childish, and has somewhat insufferable dialogue at times - it feels like she never has any emotions other than “wahey guys/gals/otherkin - I LOVE killing walkers!”.
But what if that’s on purpose? I had a really good idea on how to potentially improve her character, or at least make her more interesting, and it would involve her mental state.
With the cover of Issue 174 revealing her fighting Commonwealth Troops, I thought it’d be interesting if, due to her isolation in Pittsburgh for so long, she could be suffering from split-personality disorder, and the only personality that has come out just yet, is her “annoying” one?
I dunno, I think it’d definitely add layers to her character - her backstory could be revealed as more and more details of The Commonwealth and Michonne’s daughter are revealed, and through this, she could grow as a character and become less annoying and more interesting, introspective even.
Just a thought.
