I just finished the episode in early S3 on my rewatch where Brienne and Jaime fight on the bridge. Brienne pretty much wiped the floor with him. Now in all fairness, he had manacles on his hands and has been tied up as a prisoner for the last however many months, so he wasn't exactly at the top of his game. While Brienne may not have beat him in a straight up swordfight while he was ready, I think she would definitely have given him a run for his money.
Then, in S7, we all watched Arya dance circles around Brienne with their swordplay. Had Jaime not lost his hand, would Arya actually have been a worthy match for him? Or did she essentially get lucky and take Brienne off guard?
