I don't know if this aspect is old news, but according to the newest law suit being filed Austin wasn't supposed to physically touch Bernecker during the scene but he grabbed on to his jacket a bit which caused his trajectory to change. I obviously don't know enough to verify if it was his fault partially, but Austin seems like such a good person from interviews. That's just super sad that he may have to live with that guilt. I mean I hope it wasn't his fault, but when I read it I just felt awful for him.
