Issue 125 and Season 8 finale Theory

I was thinking of a potential theory for the finale of season 8...

I'll go over the comic side of the story as a quick refresher: In issue 124 (Maybe sooner?) either way, the story of the comic goes that Rick got shot by a "poison" arrow from Dwight. It was believed that Dwight dipped the blood of the walkers on the arrow, therefore if you get shot by the arrow you would turn.

Obviously in the show we know Dwight is on Ricks side, and the same goes for in the comic. So even though Rick was shot by Dwight, it was not dipped in the blood but rather a clean arrow. Negan does not know this and Negan beleives Rick was shot by the poison arrow.

Issue 125: Negan with victory on his mind decides NOW is the time to attack Rick and Co. as without their mighty leader it would be an easy defeat. Upon arriving to attack, Negan asks them to surrender, he is open to attack, Rick comes out, Negan poops his pants thinking hes seeing a ghost, Rick proposes a truce, Negan falls for it, Rick cuts his throat open and of course Rick gets his knee messed up.

So okay, thats what happens in the comic. Now, how can this tie with the show?

I wonder if the Carl theory of him not being infected would be true. There is tons of theories that "Its a fake bite" or "He is immune cause he got shot in the same spot" etc etc. I think that the only person who will know that Carl is NOT dead will be Rick and Michonne (In the comic, Andrea and Carl know he is not infected, but the community thinks Rick is dying... SELL IT!) Anyways, HOW freaking epic would it be, if we believe he is dead too, and Season 8 Finale comes, Negan knows they are weakened, Rick sells he cannot handle life without Carl etc etc, Negan comes "Surrender now! Its over!" Then the gate opens... And its Carl..... Carl walks up... Negan caught off guard... Same story in the comic where Carl convinces Negan to truce, Negan agrees and CARL gets the throw slash instead of Rick.

It would literally be so shocking, no one would expect Carl to be alive, then we can be shown how it was kept secret this whole time (Maybe Carl lives in the sewers off site or somewhere else out of eyes)

I think I would dig this ending.
