I just watched the first season, and while I really liked it as a drama, it wasn't much of a zombie show. It feels less gritty, less serious, and events feel like they don't have as much weight as in the other show.
I thought the first episode was setup for the coming adventure, but then as soon as they were about to leave town and the show felt like it was going to start, everybody stayed put and then we got what felt like a whole season of setup.
