For me, I would like to have seen them stay in mexico for a bit after the entire dam explosion. Regrouping along the way, maybe with the intention of heading back to the US and seeing LA and deciding to end it there at their "home" along the way they encounter the proctors (since they had hubs from socal to texas) get captured and transported to texas. There, they have a small crossover with Abe and Co. about heading to DC to find the cure. John and the proctors are the "big bad" but their intentions are trying to keep society "alive" with their bazaars and trading posts. In the end their means are wrong but they are doing "good" by keeping survivors safe. More of the grey area for them, what made the ranch and the Natives so great, not good nor bad, just inbetween. Don't know how to bring them into the mix, but would be cool to some how have the military, navy and NASA play a role since they would be in Houston/Texas.
