Something that has been bugging me ever since I binge-watched the show. Daryl's never really had a romantic entanglement since the show began. He's had very strong bonds with people (Carol comes to mind) but these are always presented as platonic relationships. The closest I can think of would be Beth which could go either way I think??? But even that's not definitely romantic. Daryl does have a lot of damage and not everyone's response to the apocalypse is going to be to get physical, but I don't know whether Daryl's lack of romantic interest is meant to signify that he's asexual, or that he's gay. He's a main character so his lack of romantic prospects is weird when you see how other characters do and I don't think it can be shrugged off as the writers' just not caring about those particular storylines. When they introduced Jesus I wondered if this was going to be the big finish and we were going to watch this beautiful kung-fu man finally break through Daryl's repressed nature but that didn't happen. TWD has had a few gay characters but I get that making Mr Masculine Man gay might be a step too far for the company and they chickened out, but regardless of what happened, the lack of attention paid to Daryl's romantic interest is a bit strange? I'm new here but I just wondered if other people had any thoughts on how Daryl's been handled.
