So I'm rewatching the series for the umpteenth time and i'm currently in Season 5 specifically where Beth is at Grady Hospital. Something I'm noticing this time around is that nobody really gives a shit where Beth is. The entire time in season 4 where the group is split, Maggie is only concerned with finding Glen. I get that the likelihood of Beth being alive seems really low considering nobody knows shes with Daryl yet so Maggie might be assuming but Glen was just on his deathbed with the flu so he shouldnt really be considered on his "A" game either. Then once the group reunites during/after Termimus, Daryl says Beth got taken and theyre all kind of like "oh thats sucks" then move on. The final "fuck you" to her I think is when theyre all literally having a party at the church and are all excited because Rick said theyll all continue on to DC with Abraham, Eugene and Rosita. Now I totally get just accepting that they have no leads on Beth and taking care of the remaining survivors but Daryl told Maggie she was alive. It didnt even seem like a considered option to go look for her until Daryl sees that car with the cross mark in the window when hes following Carol. She wasn't a super important character to the show I suppose but it seems weird that nobody seems too pressed about her well being even though she's been around for a long time, was Judiths care taker at the prison and is Maggie's sister? Seems like a weird choice by the writers considering they probably want you to empathize with her to give her death more impact.
