Is Jesse More of a son to Walt than Walt Jr.?

For much of the show -- particularly as it goes on -- Walt manipulates Jesse constantly or just outright treats him like shit. But.... there are a few times here and there when he has sort of a mentor-like relationship with him and I really like those scenes. Such as when they are stuck in the desert and Walt is building the battery and explaining to Jesse what he is doing. Of course Jesse doesn't get it ("wire......." lol) -- but still, Walt has something of a look of pride on his face as he's "teaching" him. Even right at the beginning when they are cooking in the RV and Jesse is super impressed with the glass-grade meth Walt makes.

Compare this to the relationship Walt has with Walt Jr -- he gets pissed about the website, calling it charity, then the TV interview that he could barely get through.... the flyers that were distributed during the "fuge state" were used to embarrass him.. that time after the fight with Jesse where Walt was beaten up so bad under the influence of pain killers he called Walt Jr "Jesse" and on a few occasions he called Jesse "son."

Walt taught Jesse what he knew -- chemistry. Jesse learned it and became as good a chemist (albeit for meth rather than something productive) as Walt. He may have flunked Walt's class in high school but he "passed" in this regard. What did Walt teach Walt Jr.? Even in the pilot Jr calls him a "pussy" -- the ultimate kick in the stomach for Walt. The highlight of their father-son relationship during the show was when Walt bought both of them the fancy cars. But even that wasn't really mentorship, it was showing off.
