It all started with Maggie

After rewatching season 9 on netflix, I realized that all the events that led to Rick’s disappearance all started with Maggie.

When she decided to hang Gregory. It started a domino effect. Gregory’s hanging led to Oceanside to start killing certain Saviors that had a hand in killing their men, which convinced Maggie and Daryl to try and go against Rick and try to kill Negan, which is why Daryl drove Rick our farther away from Alexandria so that he couldn’t stop Maggie.

Oceanside’s executions of several Saviors also caused the shoot out at the camp, which drew in the herd that was headed towards the communities and and Rick had to try and lead them since he was closer to it thanks to Daryl. And that caused him to eventually get cornered and mortally wounded. And we all know what happens next after that. So in a way, Rick going missing is because of Maggie.

Not saying I blame Maggie (anymore) but if Lauren Cohan does return to the show, I’d like to see if Maggie still carries any guilt over what happened to Rick. What do you guys think? Was Rick’s disappearance Maggie’s fault or was it just a bunch of unfortunate circumstances?
