‘Chernobyl’ The Biggest BAFTA-Winning Series In History, Says Sky

Something people don't talk about enough - is how everything matters

Throughout the 10 seasons (so far), we've seen numerous arcs come to a close, and dozens of beloved characters meet their deaths.

However, almost nothing happened in vain. For example, even in season TEN we are seeing how Carol's abusive husband effected her among the deaths of all her children.

Dale died in season 2, and even though he was a minor character, we saw how he taught Glenn to fix an RV which was a skill that Glenn used all the way in season 6. He wouldn't have been able to fix it without him.

People shit on Beth's death, but I still contest that her dying changed Darryl's character forever. Losing her broke him so bad that he's still never forgiven himself.

Perhaps the BEST example is Carl killing that boy in the season 3 finale. It's not that relevant after season 4, but in season 8 episode 9 (FIVE SEASONS LATER), Carl talks about how much he regrets killing him. Talking about this is what ultimately led to Rick becoming a pacifist and sparing Negan. And, by sparing him, Negan was there 6 years later to save his daughter Judith.

Despite some of the hate it gets, this beautiful show knows how to create gravity in any situation. You never know how even the smallest decision can rear its head years later.

How come Tuco was out of prison by the time of Breaking Bad when Hector was told he stabbed a guy and broke a guard's jaw all while he was behind bars? And other inconsistencys

I really like this show but there are some inconsistencys between BCS and Breaking Bad.

How come Saul is an alias and was never his actual name when the show was created?

This is another inconsistency because in Breaking Bad, that when Hank and Gomey don't bother trying to find out Saul's real name or even asking when they confront him.

If Hank questioned if his lawyer credentials were even real, couldn't he have thought the same about Jimmy's name?

Hank could have just done some digging around and come to the conclusion that he could ask Hamlin or somebody at a firm that Saul used to work for.

We see that Hank doesn't really care about warrants.

If he really wanted to go after him, couldn't he have just asked one of his former old people clients if Saul was really Jimmy Mcgill and done his shady police work he tried to pull when he looked for Walt and Jesse.

[SPOILERS] Jenny of Oldstones: A Requiem for Game of Thrones

Fair warning for HEAVY spoilers and that this is a bit of a long read!

Season 8 Episode 2 of Game of Thrones, and especially it’s accompanying song Jenny of Oldstones” first sung by Podrick by the fire, then even more beautifully in the credits by Florence and the Machine was the last time Game of Thrones could be considered decent television. It was obvious the show had fallen off in the 7th season, but we had run out of book material, and a drop in quality was expected.

I was certainly not actively angry at the show at the point of season 8 episode 2. Even though I disliked some of the things that happened in later seasons, I was still a fan. A fan with a few bones to pick, but a fan. Episode 2 and its accompanying song brought nostalgia, fantastic tension building, real emotion and even some character development to a show that had been sorely lacking in those departments for a while. It was a slow but very refreshing episode, and the song Jenny of Oldstones really drove home the carnage to be expected when the Army of the Dead arrived.

Then they arrived. I’ll admit watching Episode 3 for the first time was enjoyable. I actually cheered when Arya stabbed the Night King. It was well shot except for the dragon sequences and their lighting issues and for the most part it was a really good battle episode of Game of Thrones. There were plot holes yes, but after season 7 I was still willing to roll with it. But once you start to break down what you’ve seen, the plot holes become just too enormous to ignore, and it becomes abundantly clear this show was probably not going to end well.

Episodes 4-6 to confirmed that theory. Every Episode was like a tidal wave of major unexplained and unearned character changes and contrived plot points. Danny becomes the mad queen out of nowhere. Jon who was once one of the best characters on the show now just walks around saying “she is my queen.” and “I don’t want it!”. The worst offense had to be Bran becoming King out of nowhere turning the entire show on its head. Basically the last 3 episodes were a dumpster fire where it became impossible to suspend our disbelief any longer.

Jenny of Oldstones was an unintentional funeral mass for a show we all loved, and we never wanted to leave. Unfortunately, we had to.

Just finished BB for like the 50th time.

The main thing I’ve noticed the more I watch this show is Anna Guns performance, specifically in the 5th season. What a fucking phenomenal actress I know everyone talks about Bryan Cranston but wow was Skyler so well portrayed !

And I know everyone says this but the entire Ozymandias episode is a master piece from beginning to end , that knife fight scene and Skyler chasing the car and screaming is just so brilliant .

Last thing , when Walt is giving it to Skyler on the phone and he knows the cops are listening ... Man that made me so emotional... You could see how painful it was for Walt to leave that message 😭

Wasn't Negan's strategy for Ricks group unsustainable?

I remember an episode where multiple groups from Alexandria are out scouting for supplies and they are coming down to the wire on collection day. I think they said they were out scavenging for 2 weeks and Rick found a stash of guns at the last minute to satisfy Negan. If they are already having trouble finding supplies it won't be long before they can't find anything in time and Negan will start killing them one by one. Wouldn't it have made more sense for him to come up with an arrangement like he had with the Kingdom where they give them pigs and produce on a regular basis?

Dean Norris should have been nominated for an Emmy

I know people complain about Seahorn not being nominated but so should Hank. He killed it in the last season especially in that scene where he dies or the scene in the Mexican restaurant. How about an emmy nomination for the episode "One Minute"? At least Banks and Esposito have been nominated several times, but where was Dean's nomination?

[SPOILERS] from season 8

So.. after season 7 i read a storyboard of leaked plots for season 8.. i saved the link but it has mysteriously disappeared, keep in mind i read this as they began shooting season 8.. then a year passed.. and i watched season 8 like everyone else.. and they kept most of it the same, (long night battle, melisandre's death).. except for the last episodes, when i tried looking for the source i couldn't find it.. anyways.. what i remember is very vague.. whoever put it together was rushed and not all small details are covered but this is all i could remember..

everything happens the same way it did.. up to the point where in the war room everyone was discussing what to do after the long night.. and everyone (including danny) agreed to recoup for a years time and then march on kings landing.. at this time.. cercis has employed the golden army and sent them to assassinate danny.. everyone returns to heal, what is left of the little

and in this time period, danny is pregnant and she says it feels strong like a boy, and they want to name it ned or aemon.. when she is has the baby she is resting and the baby is resting next to her.. she is confronted on her balcony and is taken by someone and her baby is hidden by one of the nurses.. greyworm is nearby and is attacked.. i really don't know why the dragon couldn't save her (i think one of them is killed but i am not sure) or they were up north hunting and wasn't there, what i read and saw wasn't very clear on that) greyworm after securing the baby goes after the golden army assasins and is ambushed and killed with a handful of his men while the army escapes in the darkness..

anyways.. jon is gathering his people to go after her but is occupied by the baby and gathering his friends (north people) and other kingdoms.. danny is now in kings landing imprisoned.. she is publicly paraded through the streets naked while people throw shit at her and mock her.. cerci then kills her out of nowhere..and this is such a dramatic scene.. she then steaks her body at the gates (for shock value)

jon is distraught and is on his way to the city to retrieve her body.. after jamie "mounts" brienne he is forced to go to kings landing but doesn't leave brienne crying or brokenhearted (like they did) they go down together.. jon and the army attacks kings landing and he rides the dragon burning the city gates and they storm the city.. i think his dragon is killed at the gates, so he rides drogon and burns the castle.. the dog fights his brother and kills him..

anyways.. jamie steals away to convince cerci to give up and return danny's body and spare the people and the lanister armies.. she gets uber mad and berates him saying he is the most stupidest lanister and their father was right and she never cared for him at all.. blah blah blah and in a fit of rage jamie chokes her and kills her.. (this also fulfills a prophesy for her character)

now i am not sure but i think jon is killed is some sort of way.. i can't remember.. man it has been so long.. anyways.. most of everyone dies..

here is the ending.. sansa rules the north.. bran moves north to find the children of the forest (if any are left) and becomes the 3 eyed raven.. arya travels with the mountain west of westeros to the unknown lands.. yara rules the iron islands.. and then a pull back scene of tyron teaching a little girl on her 8th birthday and she is begging him to tell her a story.. and he tells her she is named after a beautiful lady that fell in love with a beautiful prince and started a great war.. i'm not sure if he calls her Lyanna.. or it may have been implied.. but that little girl is sitting on the throne and tyrion is her hand..

Troubling Thought About Jimmy’s Second Wife.

So something disturbing just occurred to me- while watching the first season of BCS, Jimmy talks about his first wife while explaining a Chicago Sunroof when hosting Bingo.

In BB, Saul explains that his second wife cheated on him with his stepfather.

Kim, as far as I know, is Jimmy’s second wife...

Edit: I am wrong, thank God. Kim is Jimmy’s third wife. Thanks for letting me know fellow Redditor! Guess I need to pay better attention!

So like, I don’t understand. These characters with these nice suits of plate, or brigandines, and no helmet or gauntlets to speak of. Along with this swords that apparently weight like 7 pounds that they have to wrench around to swing. Mostly with the Brienne vs Hound fight scene in season 4.

[SPOILERS] Fixing Arya’s story in Season 8

Two complaints about Season 8 that get brought up a lot are “Arya killing the Night King wasn’t foreshadowed at all” and “Arya’s face switching abilities were forgotten about”.

I think I may have found a way to address both of these issues without affecting the rest of the story (not that the rest of the story couldn’t use fixing, either). Apologies if something similar has been posted before.

I haven’t read the books (yet), but I’ve deduced from browsing this sub that there’s a prophecy from the books that says Azor Ahai created his sword, Lightbringer, by stabbing it through his beloved’s heart, and it’s implied the Prince/Princess who was promised would have to do the same.

In this alternate storyline, I’d have Sam read about this prophecy and relay it to Jon in 801. Jon assumes Sam is implying he’ll have to kill Dany, but Sam tells him that the Valyrian word for “beloved” is used in all contexts, not just romantic, so it could mean he has to kill Sansa, or Bran, or even him. This does not make Jon feel better.

In 802, Arya never leaves the Hound and Beric to go have sex with Gendry. Instead, he gives her his speech from 805 about how she doesn’t want to be like him. He tells her the only thing that kept him alive when she left him to die was that he needs for the last thing his brother sees before he dies to be his face.

Later, during Podrick’s song, the montage shows us various characters in couples; Grey Worm and Missandei, Dany and Jorah, Sansa and Theon, Tyrion and Jaime, and Arya and the Hound.

Then in 803, in the scene where Beric convinces the Hound to man up and go save Arya, Beric and the Hound are ambushed by a group of wights and Beric sacrifices himself so the Hound can get to Arya. He saves her, but is brutally wounded. He tells Arya that he’s done for, and she stabs her dagger through his heart, just like he showed her to in Season 4. This is the same dagger she uses to kill the Night King at the end of the episode, fulfilling the Lightbringer prophecy.

Arya still rides for King’s Landing in 804, except this time she’s alone. In 805, she doesn’t make it into the Red Keep until after Dany’s begun destroying the city. As Cersei, Qyburn, and the Mountain are fleeing, their path is blocked by... the Hound.

The Mountain kills Qyburn and attacks the Hound, but before he can even land a punch, the Hound slashes his throat with Arya’s Valyrian steel dagger. He watches as his brother dies, ensuring his face is the last thing he sees.

Then, in a not-so-surprising reveal, Arya pulls off the Hound’s face with tears in her eyes. She turns to Cersei, and the two glare at each other for a few moments. Arya looks at the city burning outside and knows that one way or another, the Queen will get what she deserves. Then, without saying a word, Arya turns and walks away.

I couldn't find this answer anywhere on the web so I thought I'd ask here, I've always wondered why Drogon was the bigger of the three. I will never stop being mad about Santa Clarita Diet being cancelled.

Netflx cancelling shows out of nowhere isn't something exclusive to this show, but it was absolutely hilarious, heartfelt, and it somehow managed to do all that while being one of the goriest shows that isn't horror.

Timothy Olyphant as Joel was probably one of my favorite characters in a comedy in recent memory, but all of the characters had incredible chemestry with eachother that only grew as the show went on.

The good news is, other than the final cliffhanger (and a plotline with Abby), a good amount of the story had been wrapped up by then. The bad news is the new chapter they seemed to be leading up to seemed really interesting, and now we'll never get to see it.

RIP Santa Clarita Diet. Unlike the main character, it's not likely to come back.

Also as a note: If you haven't seen it, don't let this discourage you from trying it out. It's absolutely fantastic, and it's still well worth watching without a proper ending. Each season is better than the last.

The Evolution of Saul Goodman

In Season 3, Saul Goodman is first introduced when he shoots the commercial advertising "Saul Goodman Productions" and later goes on to film commercials at various different places.

In Season 4, Saul Goodman is back, this time as a cell phone salesman who sells drop phones to random criminals around town.

In Season 5, Saul Goodman uses his connection selling the drop phones to become a criminal lawyer, this continues into Breaking Bad.

I love how if you are to just look at the evolution of a "Saul Goodman" in Albuquerque, he goes from a commercial director to a burner phone salesman to a criminal lawyer before just disappearing out of nowhere.

CRM (Three Ring Group) - What We Know So Far

So, it seems this network of three communities is a big deal in the walking dead universe (and even perhaps the endgame of the story). I listed here what we know so far about them:

  • The rings represent three communities: CRM (Civic Republic Military), Campus Colony (the main community of World Beyond), and an unseen community yet to be introduced.
  • The CRM appears to be located in New York (with one base in Pennsylvania), The Campus Colony is located in Omaha, Nebraska and the unseen community could be in Portland, Oregon, since in the WB trailer, there is a banner of Monument day that says Civic Republic-Portland-Omaha, and in Fear 5x01 when Althea looks at the maps of the dead soldier there is one for NY and Oregon.
  • The Campus Colony actually appears to be a well-meaning community that is unaware of the true intentions of the evil CRM (which seems to be using humans captives for experimentation to find the cure and perhaps total domination of the country). The Leader Dr. Leon Bennett has been described as a remarkable scientist that discovered something important about the virus.
  • The CRM has more than one helicopter and they label their captives by A or B. So far we haven't had an official meaning to these labels but the closest ones appear to be: "A" is a survivor with leadership abilities and willingness to fight and "B" is a survivor who is unable or unwilling to fight. We also know that the "A" survivors have to be recently bitten (8x07, 8x14, 9x04).
  • The Campus Colony has 9,671 residents (mentioned in the first trailer of WB).
  • The three communities wear the same type of jacket that prevents the user from getting bitten.
  • The CRM (evil ones with black uniforms) are the ones who saved Rick and for some reason, he is still with them for the past 6 and so years. They also kidnapped Heath nearly a decade ago.

Hector Salamanca defecating in a DEA office is one of the under rated thug life moment in the show. The guy could've told on Jesse but instead he chose to shit on the feds rather than helping them. Epic.

Your feeling on the showrunners

I have had this opinion for a while that each showrunner has done a great job at fixing the previous show runners messes, but has sucked towards the end of their run as their long term ideas are not that great.

Darbont was great in season 1 outstanding episodes, but his ideas for Season 2 killing Daryl and Sophia and overall this outline for the farm was very borning

Mazzara season 3 returned the action to the show and things started happening, and the way he wrapped up season 2 with Rick and Shane was great. Green lighting and planning the Carol body burning story for season 4 was a definite character defining moment that created the Carol we know today. But then he was kill happy, killing 4 members of the cast in one season and greenlight an extremely lame verison of Tyrese. In killing Andrea he created a problem that exists even today in Walking dead

Gimple- Season 4 though terminus was some of the best walking dead, Gimple attempt to get the show back on track to the comics and the return for the Governor and Hershels death was a massive improvement to the way it was protrayed in the comic. His terminus arc was another great protrayal of a the comic arc. Then the lame show created hospital arc happened, and the show got extremely slow paced. Toward the very end of his arc he green lite storys that killed 4 of the main cast, even when they knew they were going to lose 2 more due to actors moving on. Leading to an extreme amount of newer cast that fans haven't connected to like the old cast members.

Kang- moved the show forward with a fresh start years later and immediately got into action with the Whispers and developed Henry, Judith, and Gabriel to fill voids left in the show from previous characters leaving.

after this everything is yet to be seen, but the pattern shows that Kang probably take the show downward very soon.

Just started watching and here are some of my thoughts *spoilers for season 1-3*

I really like this show. I'm on 3x09 and it's been a ride though from what I gather from this sub major disappointment is around the corner. Regardless here are my opinions on some of the characters tell me if you agree or what you thought about them.

Victor Strand - hands down my favorite character in this show and my second in TWD universe as a whole (Shane being number 1). The dude is calm smart and has a plan for damn near everything. But he can be a tad self serving at times. I honestly thought he was going to be a villain at first because of how he was introduced but he's just a calm cool guy that knows how to "just figure or talk it out" his way out of almost anything.

Madison - not going to lie at first I thought she was the worst. That hotel stunt with the lights at night then her barging into that cartel "enhanced interrogation" had me screaming at the tv. But as those layers of civility got peeled away she's someone I wouldn't mind having my back during the end of the world (till she can't find a family member). Her at the ranch right now has me on board with her

Travis - he was on his high horse a bit too long but I understand he had the best intentions. But when he snaps boy.... That beating he gave to Brandon and his friend at the hotel was arrow season 1 levels of brutal. When Nick left him I felt so bad for him. Dude was trying to be a good father in a world gone bad he deserved better imo.

Alicia - speaking of making Oliver Queen proud Alicia is by far one of the strongest characters in the show imo. A young kid living life like kids do then having to grow up almost over night in a hell on earth she's holding it together better than I would. I hate they held so much back from her like the outbreak's severity and her dad I think she could even more of a bad ass than she is now.

Chris - he tugged my heart strings when he left his dad (me and my dad are close). I wanted him to say fuck those guys but I knew he wouldn't and hey I even get his logic but in an apocalypse maybe stick with the devil you know especially if it's the only family you have left. I just hate it cost him but more than that I hate how his dad couldn't get through to him.

Nick - I don't even recognize this man from the tweaking dip shit he was in season 1. He went from me not caring wether he died or not too really rooting for him by the time he joined the Colonia. Talk about a guy who took what he learned from a life that wasn't worth a damn and using those skills to earn a place in every group. Him and luci were a couple that I wanted to happen I hate she ditched him. Right now as I'm watching he's trying to talk Troy off the ledge.

Daniel - maybe the biggest badass in this show. If Victor is the guy who can talk his way out of something Daniel is the one who will fight his way out. I was bummed when I thought we lost him in the fire but man that thing he pulled on the dam was straight out of James bond. I hope he finds his daughter before things get too bad.

Something to bear in mind about the Emmys: Game of Thrones season 8 had 32 nominations, the most in history, and it won 12, including Outstanding Drama Series.

If your favourite show was snubbed, it's in good company.

The Wire never won a single Emmy. Veronica Mars never even received a nomination. Buffy only won a single Emmy for make-up. Hannibal was only nominated once for special effects. It goes on and on.

But that season eight of Game of Thrones, though? Emmy's out the ass.

[Spoilers] How does House Arryn stay “neutral” in the War of the Five Kings?

How do House Arryn and the Vale stay ”neutral” in the War of the Five Kings? The War of the Five Kings was a civil war, not a war between foreign countries. In a civil war, there is no “neutral”. You‘re either with the ruling government or with the rebels. If you declare yourself neutral, you are essentially saying that you are an independent party with the power to make the decision to be neutral. And if you do that, you’re also in rebellion. When a civil war breaks out, everyone that doesn’t declare independence is automatically with the ruling government.

If we apply that to the Seven Kingdoms, that means that when the Five Kings war breaks out, everyone that didn’t declare independence or put forth a claim to the throne (essentially Vale & Dorne) is automatically with the Iron Throne. My understanding is that when House Arryn declared itself neutral, it basically declared independence but chose not to do anything with that independence except protect its own borders. How come the Iron Throne under Tywin & Joffrey never ordered House Arryn to call its banners? If a Lannister host crossed north through the Vale to fight the Starks, would the Arryns have denied entry? The main reason the Arryns were able to stay neutral was Littlefinger’s manipulation, but in all reality what was stopping the Iron Throne from either ordering the Arryns to contribute to the crown’s war effort or treating them like just another enemy combatant?

The Gene scenes in general are the scenes I'm most intrigued about. Finding out what happens to him is exciting but stressful as well. I hope they show us more about Jeff, an all Gene episode would be great. My theory, this guy has something to do with Kim, it's just so mysterious and I am pumped about Season 6s cold open.

So i recently just got into watching the walking dead and ive currently just finished season 2 and am moving onto season 3, but when i get onto season 3 it literally skipped the entire season of winter from the show, did i miss something? am i supposed to watching something like a movie before i watch season 3. When i moved on from season 2 to 3 i noticed that like i said previously it skipped winter, and they looked older, so if you can answer my question please do.

Jimmy wasted so much time

Toward the end of season 2 when Jimmy pulls his switcheroo he could have just cut out one copy of "the change" and copied it over every document once and made a new contract much faster. He presumably spent 8-10 hours doing it his way and could have probably cut that time in half.

Season 11 cannot come until 2022

If AMC is adding six episodes to season 10 and they expect to get 8 new episodes ready for season 11 by the fall of 2021... this means they have to produce (14) new episodes by the fall instead of (8). with (8) more due by the spring of 2022 for the 2nd half of season 11.

This is not going to happen.

Something fundamentally does not make sense about this. The math is not adding up. I think season 11 can't get here until the fall of 2022 at the earliest. That's assuming everything goes back to normal right now, which is not happening.

Do they simply not care about the show going to shit? It’s obvious he’s a terrible writer, both shows worst seasons were headed by him yet AMC keeps him around, why? Are they contractually obliged to have him writing for set amount of seasons?

The swimming pool at Walter's house (maybe even swimming pools on the show in general)

Doing a rewatch right now and the cold open of the season 3 finale (the flashback to the Whites touring what will become their family home) drew my attention to the pool. Does anyone ever actually swim in it, or use it in a way that is innocent and recreational? Here are the things that I remember taking place in the water of Walt's pool: Junior puking into it when his dad forced him to chug tequila, the one-eyed Teddy Bear falling in, Walt throwing his half-cooked drug money into it, Skyler despondently submerging herself in it, and the empty, abandoned pool being used by skateboarders. The other pool on the show that comes to mind is of course Don Eladio's and nothing nice happens there either, the only things we've seen take a swim in it were Hector's urine, blood from Max's gaping cranial bullet wound and Eladio's poisoned corpse.

Obviously the show is dense in visual symbolism but I guess I never really thought about this one. What do people make of it?

Craziest fan theories?

Not trying to call anyone out for believing some of these, but I just wanted to recap some of the more out-there speculation about characters and events from the show over the years. I'll start, from off the top of my head:

  1. Enid is a spy for the Wolves/Saviors. She used the pickles she gave Maggie to poison her so that the group would be forced to hit the road and get trapped by the Saviors.
  2. When the Saviors are looting Alexandria, Daryl is blinking Morse code to Rick to give him the location of the Sanctuary. This is based off a Morse code poster being shown on a wall in Rick's house.
  3. Jadis/Anne will become Alpha. I believe this one sprung up after Simon slaughtered all of the Scavengers.

I'm not a fan of IMDB listing recent TV Show Table Reads as episodes.

As an example, I recently recommended Community to a friend of mine and he looked it up and said "Wow, it's still ongoing?". I was confused so I also looked it up on IMDB and saw that it had all the episodes up to 2015 and then the YT table read listed as an episode credit, Community (TV Series) 2009-2020. As nice as it was to see a lot of the cast back, I think it's a little disingenuous to list it as an episode and confuse viewers that the show is still ongoing.

Also it's strange since many other shows have had table reads but have not been listed. For example Hannibal, which ended the same year.

Edit:

So after a little more diving into it, it appears that the show's run dates are listed properly under the title, but have it 2020 under "Years." Since the Table Read is still credited as an official episode, it means that if you individually look up any of the main cast/Dan Harmon, the show will be listed as more recent than any of their post 2015, pre-2020 work. As an example this is Donald Glover's IMDB, with Community being more recent than his work in Lion King, Solo, Atlanta, as well as Childish Gambino music content.

Was anybody else looking forward to what the show would have become in the future if

Carl was still alive? Throughout the first few seasons I always believed the show would’ve stayed as strong as it was at the time mainly because of what the show would have become in the future. Adult Carl, Rick and Darryl being the main characters would’ve been great to see. I really thought that with them 3 leading the group, there was no way the show could’ve declined. But then the show started declining during the Negan Era.

The show is great now without a doubt but having them three be the ‘face of the show’ would’ve been beautiful.

can you survive a zombie bite since you have the virus in you that turns you into a zombie upon death?

my boyfriend and i have been going back and forth about whether you would be immune to a zombie bite. his argument is that since you have the “virus” in your body that makes you a zombie upon death, you’re immune to a zombie bite because “you already have it in you.” my argument is that the “virus” in you only makes you turn into a zombie upon death and that it doesn’t grant you healing powers or immunity to things

Can I watch Better Call Saul without having finished Breaking Bad?

Long story short. I got into Breaking Bad, and I loved season 1, but since season 2, I have gradually lost interest and can't seem to have the same excitement as when I watched S1.

But I love the character Saul, and I've only enjoyed scences with him. Currently on S3 Ep10 but I don't really plan on finishing. I found out that there is a spin-off called Better Call Saul recently and was thrilled, but wondered if it is worth finishing BB, since I like getting refrences and throwbacks whenever a show does a spin-off or a new series based on the same world.

Spoilers all up through season 4.

Okay, so I started from the beginning for a rewatch and I'm currently up to s04e07. I've seen the whole show and know how it ends.

Arya, Hot Pie, and Gendry spent how long together, and when Gendry shows up with Brienne, neither Hot Pie nor Gendry recognizes the other? Even once Hot Pie references 'Arry' ? Who Gendry also seems to have forgotten he already knows a Stark in hiding? Or did he not know? I thought she told him who she was in season 2.

Is that just bad continuity/careless retcon? Or am I missing something?

[SPOILERS] Olenna’s Mistake

My friends constantly bring up the fact that Cersei’s actions killed most of her kids and that’s a huge part of her arc. The mother who tries to protect her children but loses them to her own decisions. But now that I think about it, why isn’t Olenna killing Joffrey regarded as the mistake that killed the Tyrells. As much of a sadistic shit Joffrey was, Margery could control him when even Cersei could not. And undoubtedly Joffrey has more of a spine than Tommen. Do you think if Olenna had a little more faith in her daughter, Margery could’ve controlled Joffrey to where he could’ve sent Cersei to casterly Rock or remove the faith militant if it got that far? Thus the survival and ultimately the goal of house Tyrell achieved

[Spoilers] Do you guys think the series could come back?

The series ended with bran on the iron throne, Sansa the queen of the north, Arya exploring what's West of westeros(which is pretty weird as she could have just asked bran), and Jon back with the night's watch. The most important thing however was that drogon was missing, alongside Daenerys's body, so could she be resurrected? and if she can then she'll be a pretty great threat and the Starks' adventures could also be shown in a new season.

[Spoilers] Questions about S8 E3

Edit: I haven’t watched anything passed this episode so please no spoilers about anything else.

Correct me if I’m wrong but in the final scene of the episode it looks like Arya kills the night king with the Valyrian dagger. If this is the case there’s a major plot hole in the episode because she initially gave it to Sansa before she entered the crypt.

I can’t rewatch the episode right now (I went over to a friends house to see it and don’t have my own DVD collection) so I was wondering if someone on here could confirm or deny if this is the case. Am I missing something? Was it actually just an ordinary/dragon glass dagger and I mistook for the Valyrian one?

Wow. I’m at a loss of words here.

I just finished the series for the first time, and, let me tell you, that was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen. I’m still trying to process it in my head. The fact that they got you to even care about this monster, let alone make me tear up when he died, is amazing. And the fact that Jesse also came full circle since the beginning of the show amazes me. He went from this punk kid on drugs to an abused and tortured adult in just over two years. I think that we all sympathize with Walt at the end though, because he realizes his greed and lack of empathy, and he realizes that he’ll never have a life worth living again, so he wanted to make the most of the days he had left. He had a proper goodbye with his family, he took down the bro-nazis, he freed Jesse, and then he died because he had fulfilled his goals. Walt always had an agenda that he had to obtain, and it was always for himself. This time, it was really for Jesse. After everything Walt had put Jesse through, he realized the only thing Walt could do to pay him back was to die and let Jesse get out and start a new life. I’ve watched the trailer to El Camino several times (I can’t sit down and watch it yet) and just that song in the trailer mixed with the shots of Jesse’s destroyed body gives me chills. I’m so excited to watch that.

I watched the CC FTWD LIVE PANEL so you didn’t have to. (+ opinions on S6)

This years Fear panel was live over some sort of online video conference. The angel was split into two parts with half the panelists on one half and the other panelists and show runners from the first half on the second.

  • Colman and Lennie both directed episodes of fear this season.
  • Lennie’s episode features Strand and Alicia
  • Virginia’s going to have a new character that can get under her skin
  • There will be a character named Dakota who may be Virginia’s sister (real original name, guys)
  • Strand may be up to his old lying bullshit
  • Alicia trusts no one
  • Skidmark is the only thing Ruben has to talk about.
  • There will be multiple time jumps
  • It was warned that Dwight and Sherry’s reunion may not be as love filled as we would expect.

Season Six Trailer:

  • Strand and Alicia are in Oklahoma (I’ve mapped out where the Pioneers control land I’ll put it on this sub Reddit)
  • Morgan is gone, it may be nice this way even tho we have bottle episodes the pacifist views Morgan has will no longer be fed to the others
  • I feel like now there’s all doubt that Madison is NOT coming back.

[SPOILERS] Just finished watching Game of Thrones for the first time...

Gotta say this will easily go down as one of my favorite TV shows of all time. The writing, the acting, the directing, the story (for the most part), the holy shit moments that kept me watching- I will definitely do reruns of the show in the future.

Also, I know that I’m one year late, but in case you were wondering: yes, I was a little disappointed by season 8. To keep it short and simple, I think that it needed more episodes so it could be properly developed. Other than that, I give this season a 6/10.

To the show overall, being one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever seen, a solid 9 will do.

I used to absolutely hate the fly episode the first time I watched I was not about it. I’m on my 4-5 rewatch and am showing my mom the show for the first time. We got to the fly episode tonight and she is dying laughing. She thinks the whole episode is hilarious. The dialogue between Walt and Jesse. Walt acting like a mad man. All that good stuff.

This episode made my mom so happy that it’s now one of my favorite. Call me dumb but watching this episode with my mom laughing like a hyena brought me so much joy. Thought I would share my experience with the “most hated” episode.

Morgan Spin off

Let's say that AMC decides to do a show where Morgan goes back to wandering and has him travelling the USA ( or world). It would start with some event maybe in Fear where he yet again has issues with his mental health. Basically he loses people and loses himself again, decides instead of returning to maddess of killing he will return to his nomadic lifestyle only he will not avoid people but help them and move on.

The difference from Fear is the cast would be largely just guest stars from arc to arc, maybe a few that stick around longer. The focus would be more Morgan and the world and its changes at large, and it could possible link into other stories but from a distance like more of the Helicopter people, return of Grady Hospital and the Proctors, What happend to the milary after Cobolt, and maybe even showing aspects of the Commonwealth, heck maybe a trip to Mexico.

In my scenario Fear would continue on as its own show maybe with a return of Madison as lead.

So would you watch Morgan in Wandering with the Walking Dead?

When Jimmy & Marco break into Jimmy’s father’s old store in SLIP, the door has stickers with the era-appropriate logos of Master Charge and BankAmericard, which were rebranded as Master Card in 1979 and as VISA in 1977. Great attention to detail and a neat nod to a memorable line in Breaking Bad.

Lizzie and Mika (spoiler)

If Lizzie and Mika ended up surviving I think it would have been cool to see them grow up a bit more during the apocalypse and have this story where they always have to be attached at the hip because only one of them can kill zombies and the other can kill humans but they can’t do both!

[SPOILERS] The moment they ruined Jon Snow's character and his story.

When he gives up against Viserion and yells at it instead of fighting back. He just stops trying and lets it kill him without any resistance. He's been in so many no-win situations where he was ready to go down fighting but now at the very end, right when it matters the most, he just decides it's not worth even attempting and he just gives up and surrenders because it's too hard. It's head was like 5 feet away from him when he started yelling and it stood there preparing a breath for a good long while and he couldnt swing at it? Rush it? Throw his sword? Anything?

Making Jon so pathetic, useless, cowardly and irrelevant during the climax and resolution of this white walker storyline he's been on since season 1 ruins his whole character and his whole story.

Season 4 Episode 10

I was watching season 4 episode 10 a couple of minutes ago and first of all, Alycia Debnam Careys acting was amazing. I had some problems with the episode though. How they escaped the basement seemed very weird. How did the walker falling on the door break the chain? Also the kid Charlie, she is so annoying. I really can't stand her right now. She killed Nick (which is a big point why I dislike her) She has some fault in Madison dying. Alicia told her that she probably would kill her if they stay in the same house. Beside all that she stays in the house, just keeps quiet without talking to her or saying she is sorry. (which I think she is since she wanted to kill herself) After a while she finally talks to Alicia, but she doesn't say she's sorry or anything like that, no she talks like nothing ever happened. Hey let's talk about California and how I never went to the beach and oh, did you know that I actually don't remember the faces of my parents? How can she make that all about herself? I know she is just a kid but she annoys me so much. The end with Alicia helping her see the beach and the faces of her parents was kinda sweet, but like I said I just don't care about that kid at all. Am I the only one who disliked her at that point? Please no spoilers after season 4 episode 10. I hope it changes and maybe i will like her in the future, but so far it seems very unlikely.

sry this might be long. So i made 2 post about a walking dead and i don't know how to get the idea out there so i thought maybe if someone that likes the idea and knows how to get it out there i'll leave it to them and if you look at this and like it try to get it out and this is my last post on it

so the game is like kakorot or red dead but i am looking at kakorot for this bacily the same as kakorot. so the game is open world and in the begining u are driving the cop car with shane and u have to go to the location where the bad people are and u set up the trap go back to the car and drive in reverse and wait u see a car coming and the it flips and you know the story u wake up and you go find the exit and then u are let out in the openworld of the game. u go to your house but u see a bike and you get on it and a zombie is there u get scared and go. once at the house you meet morgan and you wake up tied so bla bla bla u go to the poice sation and you get gun and you are on your way to lori and carl then you play as morgan and snipe zombies then u see shane and dale the group end and that is just one ep so u get the game so yeah bye

I finally finished the comics! Now I’m sad

I really only got into the comics about 5 years ago. It was at the hardest time in my life I was 14 and I was going through chemo. I needed something to do and I love comics, plus I’d watched the show since it came out so i thought I might as well. I asked my dad if I could borrow his compendiums and about a week later I had finished all three and I was in love with everything about the series. the characters, story, art style, dialogue, everything. I tried keeping up and read up to 158. But then I got more focused on high school tried to buckle down spend more time with friends and I never really picked it back up... until last week when I bought compendium 4. Christ I mean that ending! Don’t get me wrong it was a good ending even a happy ending but after all the shit they went through and all the shit these characters helped me get through, it leaves a little hole in my heart knowing the series is over and that Rick dies without seeing what he made, without meeting his granddaughter, without having peace. Also the fact that rick dies in such a shitty way I mean come on some punk ass elitist gunning him down in his bed, after all he went through after all he did!

possible foreshadowing of jimmy’s fate?

in the season 1 finale, when jimmy is reading off the numbers to the elderly people at Sandpiper and he keeps getting B numbers, he says, “B as in ‘Belize’. Lovely place or so I’ve heard.” he also says he’d love to go there Belize is the place he uses as a metaphor for where to send people when he puts a hit out on them in BB. Belize is a metaphor for death. maybe his comment about wanting to go to Belize foreshadows that he could possibly end up there. thoughts?

I understand there is a virus happening and they are suppose to come out later this year but I’m jonesing for some new twd ect and the wait seems so much longer.

What I don’t get is if they planned to release twd: a world beyond directly after the last episode of twd or at least the next Sunday after how is it that they don’t have it done for release yet because of the virus?

You think they would at least have half the season done and ready!

Season 9 of the show got me hooked again

I just got done binging the 9th season of the show on Netflix and now I need to catch up on season 10. I was doing a complete rewatch and kind of stalled out on seasons 7 and 8. Some of the filler episodes bored me and I was kind of losing interest.

But season 9 renewed my interest. Loved how they handled writing Rick off and while I was a bit worried how the show would be without him, I think they’ve done a good job. I’m enjoying the whisperers as well. I love the concept of people dressing as walkers to blend in and it adds some horror to the show. Alpha and Beta are creepy too. Nothing against Negan, but it’s refreshing to see some legitimately scary villains again.

The only thing I didn’t like was they killed that coward Gregory. They should’ve locked him in a cell like Negan. Made him suffer longer. Make him see how much better Hilltop is without him. He acted like the community needed him, but it would’ve been a bigger punishment to see how little he mattered. But I get why Maggie did it.

So yeah I’m excited to watch season 10 now. I didn’t hate seasons 7 and 8, but I felt they drug the Negan storyline out too long, had too much filler, and made some questionable decisions. It just felt like season 9 got things back on track and made things interesting again. I know there’s a new show runner and sometimes you need that change to mix things up.
