always thought it would be cool if Planetus was an apocalyptic Earth , but then I started to read some of George R R Martin novels for example Song of Lyanna. Song of lyanna open my mind to think that Planetus is just a earth colony and the First Men could be the first earth colonist to land on Planetus and meet the Children of the forest who r natives of Planetus just like the giants and yes the Weirwood trees who was all over that planet pretty much I think it is the planet. When the first men landed they build structures To protect them from the climate and the natives for example the wall storms end the tower in Oldstown. I also think a lot of genetic manipulation went on for men to be able live up north or in hot conditions. Andals to me or just other countries who also developed space travel made it to Planetus. Planetus is just like earth but other than dinosaurs they had dragons same air we breath same gravity but weird animals and strange looking natives who worships the planet because the planet is alive and it feeds on the children who worships them and giants and whatever they want . Weirwood was destroyed by first men or Americans (first step for man so on and so on) and then came the Europeans and the Asians .
So imagine we achieved space travel we landed on a planet and we stay there for 500 million years, we’ve been through wars and famine and weird weather conditions and now we’ve lost most of our technology but some remain like the glass houses in winter fell that grew plants and storms end castle even winter fell . Planetus is a earth colony that’s gone thorough millions of years and now they end up looking like the dark ages.
