I may have just forgotten but the original show never seemed to have characters who just disappeared. The only people I can think of are the Grady Hospital people and the Vatos, and they got a deleted scene if you consider that to be canon.
What happened to the Geary family? Last we saw Willa killed her Mum and the Dad and sons were left behind but we don’t know what happened next. Jack was left alone when the rest of the crew got killed.
It could just be like when Morales came back for a few minutes to let everyone know what happened to him and his family.
We even got to see Sam again at Terminus just to tie up his story.
Idk how they would do it but it’s just nice to know what happened to some of the people the group met.
