Finished Season 4 and 5

I probably gonna get killed and buried by you guys, but here we go:

After watching Season 4 and season 5 in the last weeks and seeing how hated this show is, I feel a bit scared to say my opinion on here. I did a break from this show for about 2 years. After reading spoilers about who died and all the bad reviews I have seen, I just didn't had any desire to keep watching this show. For some reasons I did a few weeks back. Just to clarify, this show probably isn't even in my top 25 shows. The story as a whole I enjoyed, there where some boring episodes and dumb decisions characters made. Sometimes the episodes were very slow, but besides that I actually enjoyed it. I was reading a lot, that people hated how they always had those interview scenes. I personally didn't mind that at all. Regarding the episodes were we only saw it through the interview cameras, I thought they were interesting, I didn't think they were bad. It was a nice attempt, but they shouldn't do it anymore, twice is enough. To my defence, I probably enjoyed the show way more than others did, because I binged watched it and didn't have to wait a week or months for another episode. I also didn't had any high hopes for the show, which is why it was very hard to disappoint me anyway. I also did read a lot that people didn't like the characters. So here are some thoughts about the characters:

  • Nick: I personally was very pissed about them killing of nick, I think it was a big mistake. He was the character I liked the most.

  • Madison: I never really connected to her, a lot of times I just wished someone else would have had a scene instead of her, that's why I don't mind her being dead at all.

  • Strand: I didn't like him at all at the beginning, over the last seasons his character changed a lot and I actually like him now, to the point where I don't want to see him die. I think how he changed is pretty obvious, so I won't go into that.

  • Alicia: Still a good character. I didn't mind her struggles through out the 2 seasons. It made her character just stronger and more likeable. One thing I still don't quite get is how quick she forgave Charlie for Killing Nick.

  • Luciana: I am surprised she is still alive, it feels like the writers just don't have anything for her to do since 2 seasons. Kill her off or give her something important to do.

Now to the new characters who entered the show in season 4/5

  • Morgan: Always liked him in TWD so I was very annoyed by him getting moved to Ftwd, but I think it was necessary for the show. It gave the show some sort of importance, at least for me. I did read a lot about people being annoyed by him, I don't understand it, why? Yes he made some dumb decisions but besides that he always looks out for other people. He is a way better lead for the show then Madison ever was. I also saw some complaining that they killed him off. No they didn't, the ending was done very well and smart. It was surprising and it makes you want to keep watching. (can't believe I would ever say this show did something smart)

  • Dwight: same as Morgan, I didn't like him being moved to ftwd and I still think they didn't need to. But I think in TWD he would have never get so much screen time like he did in Ftwd, which is good. I just hope he finds his wife soon, otherwise it could get very boring and annoying very quick. Good character and likeable.

  • Charlie: I still don't like her for killing Nick. She also was very annoying in the episode where she was in the same house as Alicia during the storm. Same goes to the episode where we got introduced to Rabbi. Besides those scenes, she has some likeable moments. I am intrigued by her relationship with Daniel though. He lost his daughter and probably sees her in Charlie, which is kinda sweet.

  • Daniel: I don't care about him very much, like I said I am intrigued by his relationship with Charlie. Because of his cat I give him some extra points too. I don't hate him though.

  • The New Kids: let them look at the flowers please. We don't need 100 children in this show. Charlie is enough.

  • The Trucker siblings: they grew on me very fast, both are funny and very likeable.

  • Al: Her character is interesting, I liked the concept of someone wanting to chase story's of people in this world a lot.

  • June: I actually quite like her now. At the beginning I didn't. She is very similar to Strands character, both wanting to run away from everyone and everything. Because of there connection to certain characters they changed to very different people. Her and John are probably one of the best couple the show ever had, but to be honest they over do it sometimes by saying I will find you or with something like that. I understand if some find that annoying.

  • John: He is one of the best characters this show ever had, I like him a lot. He is a cheap Rick Grimes, which is awesome. He has probably the biggest heart of any character. He is also a badass with his guns. If there is anyone out there who doesn't like him, please tell me why.

These were my thoughts on the last 2 seasons and the characters. Every character did some stupid things/decisions, which I didn't want to point out. As you can tell there is no character of the main group who I hate. Which impressed me a lot after thinking about it. Its also the first time in this show that I have a feeling of them being a group and friends, in season 1-3 I never had that feeling. The relationships between the characters feel very real, which I didn't see coming before continuing to watch this show. Please don't roast me for actually enjoying parts of the show and the characters. I would be very interested to know some of your thoughts (Good and Bad) on certain characters or the last 2 seasons.
