Why do you think Jesse.....

In “Confessions” Jesse calls Ed the disappearer. I am wondering what you guys think his true motivation was behind doing that. Earlier in the episode Walt has Jesse meet out in the desert to talk him into it and Jesse calls him out saying that Walt is trying to run him out of town to save his own ass. Or else Walt will kill Jesse the same way he killed Mike. Walt then hugs Jesse and seems to have pulled off manipulating him once again. Do you guys think Walt’s speech to Jesse actually worked or did Jesse decide to leave town cause he knew Walt would kill him if he didn’t?

At first I thought it was obvious that Jesse left cause he knew Walt would kill him if not. But after many, many re watches I am beginning to believe that Walt actually got to him and made Jesse believe that him skipping town was good for him. One clue that leads me to believe this is that earlier in the episode Walt convinces Junior to not go to hank and Marie’s by telling him that his cancer is back. Although this was not technically a lie, he told the story so that Junior would stay at his house and continue to feel for his dad. At that point you knew that Walt was an absolute master manipulator. Every lie he told to anyone (besides Skyler) at this point was so effortless and believable to them.
