So it’s more than likely that Yumiko is going to take Michonne’s storyline in the comics since she’s also a lawyer, like Michonne, but that’s only half of the storyline.
The other half is the family reunion that Michonne has with her long lost daughter, Elodie.
Imo, it’s highly unlikely that Yumiko has/had a child before the outbreak, otherwise there would have been a hint to it.
At first I thought, maybe she’ll reunite with a sister, brother, or parent that we never knew about, but then I remembered one thing.
Magna’s cousin.
If you don’t remember, in 10x05 when Magna and Yumiko are arguing. Magna brings up that she had a cousin and something happened to her, and that she apparently killed the man who hurt her cousin.
Since we never got an official confirmation if Magna’s cousin is alive or dead and that she’s the only sort of family tie that both Yumiko and Magna are connected to as far as we know and depending on how old she was pre-apocalypse, she could potentially be Elodie’s age at this point. So what if Yumiko finds Magna’s cousin at the Commonwealth?
It would add some development to not just Yumiko, but also Magna, like how they met and what they’ve been through together. And if Magna takes up Dwight’s role in the comics (if you know what I’m talking about), and I have a feeling she will. It’ll add a whole new layer of conflict to their storyline.
This is just a theory though, what theories do y’all have about Yumiko and Magna in the final season?
