[Spoilers] HBO Should Retcon the last two seasons once the books are finished.
Most of the actors are still young, and makeup can do marvelous things. It would be the bravest thing a network has ever done, to flat out say they aren't happy with the current ending and to redo everything after season 6. Just wait for GRRM to finish the books and make this the new commitment. We deserve a proper ending. I think it would be very brave for the network to allow this. No one talks about GoT anymore. No one. What's really the harm? It would cost 100 million for sure. But HBO spends that on bullshit anyways. Just give up a proper ending eventually. One that fans can be happy with. Obviously keep stuff like the battle of the bastards. But seriously, the last two seasons rushed everything for no reason at all.

Honestly this season is so bizarre it doesn't feel like it's ending and still no hint at anything involving Rick. I wish they had stuck with the original plan and did 12 seasons.

[SPOILERS] So how can Bran rule?
The blood of the First Men still flows in the veins of the Starks, and we hold to the belief that the man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. If you would take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die.
So how is that going to work out since Bran is crippled?

[Spoilers] An observation of Ned Stark
First time here. I’m just laying here thinking how much Ned Starks death is poetic justice.
In the first scene, we find ourselves watching Ned Stark killing a man for abandoning his post, due to him seeing the white walkers - but no one believed him.
Fast forward - Ned abandons his role as hand of the king and makes a claim that no one believes. (Finger quotes).
Then, the same way Ned killed the watchmen - Ned Stark loses him in the same manner.
It starts with a beheading. And ends in one. As if those who live by the sword, die by the sword. Karma.

Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar in Narcos is one of the best acting performances I've ever seen in a TV show.
Between the physical transformation Wagner underwent to become Pablo to the fact that he isn't even a native Spanish speaker, he's absolutely mind-blowing in this show. I've watched the show multiple times, but I recently saw an interview of him for the first time, it was almost hard to believe that he was the person that portrayed Escobar on the show.
On top of all that, the character that he portrays is so dynamic; simultaneously a ruthless, evil, homicidal drug lord and also an empathetic man that cared about his family/people closest to him. An excellent, truly human villain. And he did it all in a way that was an believable without feeling contrived as a viewer. Almost feels criminal that he didn't ever win a golden globe for it.

[SPOILERS] Night King and Fire
They are talking about if the fire affects Night King and Bran says no one has ever tried. We saw lots of times Night King and White Walkers can pass through the fire. (Hardhome, Bran being Three-Eyed Raven). When they go to the fire, a hole opens up and they can pass through it. How could he say that no one ever tried?

[SPOILERS] The theory between Night King and Dragons
I have read a theory about Night King and Dragons years ago and it totally made sense but the show went somewhere else.
The best thing about ASOFIAF, unlike any other series, the characters in these books have good sides and bad sides. A bad guy is not just bad because she/he wants to be bad. It is not right to say simply bad guy, for example, Jamie, pushed Bran from the towel but he felt regret, too. Also, he did these because of his family. All in all, we saw all of the characters' motivations for why they did that.
In a conclusion, I read this theory that Night King and his army are not simply just bad. Many many years ago, Night King and Dragons(Ice and Fire) were in a war. Because dragons can also be evil to humankind and nature. Night King was there to kill them. After the war ended and dragons were killed, Night King went back beyond the wall. And the reason they came back was that the dragons were born after so many years. Also, the theory said that Night King built the wall as a result of the agreement with the people. And they made a pack he will not show off until the dragons came again. That is why they are searching for Azor Ahai from the first scene of the series. They don't want to kill him they see him as a savior.
I think George R.R. Martin's intention was to create that kind of universe. Night King being simply bad does not match any part of the series. There was no pure bad or pure good in this series. Of course, D&D couldn't build that kind of story without the books. And I am so angry, George does not continue to write the series. I want to see that kind of story, I want to understand the Night King, too.

[SPOILERS] Did your opinion about the way olenna advises danny change
I was reading some posts from 5 years ago and people were saying that Olenna gave wrong advices because she doesn't actually care if Danny wins or not, she only wants Lannisters to be perished.
To be honest, I have never seen Olenna deranged and filled with rage after her grandchildren's death even though she definitely wants Cercei to be dead. She even regrets joining Danny after Highgarden gets sacked by Lannisters which tells us that she deep down knew helping Danny wouldn't bring Loras and Margaery back so there was no point in that. Only the innocent people of her town died in the process.
So I think she was genuine at what she said in that meeting. She didn't even say something like "if you are not attacking the King's Landing right here right now, count me out. I am not letting my army attack at any other target"
Do you think Danny could have got the iron throne without brute force? Or do you think she would've have it while she still had all her dragons?

[SPOILERS] I hate little finger
I could talk about why I hate him for hours. But he’s literally a walking snake, everytime the camera pans to him he stares with his beady eyes and his pervy mustache. Not only was he obsessed with catelyn then betrayed her to then low key wanna fuck her daughter who was roughly 14 only to betray her as well. The worst part he’s not even respectably evil like Cersei he’s a little bitch about it. I was so happy when Sansa finally woke up and called him out, and he cried and begged like a FAT PUSS. So glad he’s dead he was like a little cockroach outliving much better man. Also he was behind Ned’s death which I will never get over because I loved him. Anyways all in all he’s my least favorite character but I guess he was a little necessary for plot. His death could’ve been a little better I would’ve like him to get Theon treatment if I’m being honest or at least hung.

Banshee is one of the greatest action thrillers I've watched!
I got this drama recommended by folks on suggestions sub and when I had almost nothing to watch i dived into in with not much expectation an ex-con posing to be a Sheriff in a Town i thought i knew where it would go but damn it blew me away all my expectations it turned out to be super violent/hardcore/badass that i was like damn this is so good! The cast is pretty amazing and almost every character is badass and kicks ass. And then there's Burton one of the best villains/evils/psychos!
If you have even a tiniest bit of thing for action-thrillers/mystery you should definitely watch this drama! I'd myself consider it to be on par(prolly even better) than daredevil and a few others.

Has TV completely replaced movies for anyone else?
I just don't enjoy watching movies anymore. Every element of shows is more appealing. The writing is more deep and meaningful. The acting performances are simply masterful and can not only keep character throughout a long series but also change subtly over time for character development. The cinematography is more tasteful; artistic yet functional. When I watch movies, the plot moves too slow and too fast at the same time. While a TV episode begins and wraps itself up within an hour or less, movies can drag on for 2 to 3 hours (especially nowadays), and make me lose interest fast. And it's not even a pacing issue, it's a quality issue. 99% of movies simply don't justify the ridiculous feature length runtime. You have the occasional outliers like Kubrick, Tarantino, Aster, Pixar and Ghibli that manage to make a 2 to 3 hour story engaging from beginning to end but again, 99% of the time the movie is so bloated and unengaging I'd much rather watch a few episodes of a TV show. Movies are just less rewarding. The cinematography and camerawork is another issue. Movies tend to be way overly indulgent with their camerawork. If they put half the focus they put in the cinematography into the acting and writing, movies would be a more enjoyable experience.
A good show is just more worthwhile than nearly any movie.

[No Spoilers]Lack of excitement for new shows
I stumbled upon a random thread on a game forum regarding TV show recommendations back in 2011 and there were some people recommending a show called 'Game of Thrones' saying if you were into LOTR, you'd like it.
I decided to give it a try even though there were only 4 episodes out at the time and to my surprise, I was instantly addicted to it. I remember after finishing episode 9 how shocked and surprised I was. The show felt weird in a way because the main character had just been killed so early on, and which show did that? Was completely unexpected and something new for me.
Ever since then, the hype for the show was real. Whenever a new season was out, every Monday became special (Living in EU) and for me at least, was something I looked forward to in excitement. I'd watch a new episode and go on Reddit to read discussions and theories for days. And as the seasons went on, the show got bigger and bigger and the more people I knew watched it. At some point all of my friends in real life watched it and we'd spend days in school discussing and arguing about things. People would read crazy theories and then share that with us.
It was a tradition to rewatch the whole of GOT before a new season came out to refresh your memory and people counted the days/months before the release of a new season. For me at least, this was the best show I 'experienced'. From not knowing what will happen next because everything was unpredictable to reading all of the in depth theories to discussing the show with my friends to being very excited about something in life. It may sound stupid or pathetic, but when you mostly do the same thing every day as a routine, having something like that to look forward to was nice.
I'm really curious if you guys feel the same? Although I have to say that I tried to rewatch the show after season 8 and I just couldn't. So much build up feels useless, all the foreshadowing and the 'prophecies' that were meant to be all was thrown out it seems like. But I'm not posting this to complain, just wanted to share my experience with this show and honestly it's pretty sad that no show or movie has made me feel like GOT did.

[Spoilers] Was Mirri Maz Duur Ever Helping Khal Drogo?
So I decided to rewatch GoT (which is an experience in fatalism let me tell you) and got to the episode where Drogo fights Mago. Since I remember what happens next, with the wound festering and almost killing the Khal I have to ask: was Mirri Maz Duur ever actually trying to heal him, or was she planning to harm him from the start?
We know for sure that the ritual she conducts to “save” Drogo was actually meant to kill Dany’s son and leave Drogo in his vegetative state. Given that, isn’t it possible that the “healing poultice” she applied to him was actually what caused his wound to get worse in the first place? The cut as depicted on the show wasn’t particularly deep, anyone with even passable medical knowledge should have been able to keep it clean enough to heal. So it makes more sense that whatever was in that poultice was intended to infect the wound, and that by the time Drogo removed it he was already dead

[No Spoilers] Truly curious, does anyone else find Daenerys to be insufferably self-righteous?
I know I’m about a decade behind, but when the series first aired I remember my friends (and everyone?) loving the mother of dragons most of all. I just started season 4, and I find myself increasingly frustrated with Daenerys and really hope someone will call out her self-righteous bravado. Of course I think she’s beautiful, but I’m confused why my reaction to her decisions seems so divergent from the general perspective.

[no spoilers] what’s up with the rape scenes in the show?
Why are there so many rape scenes that weren’t in the book?
I’m watching Game of Thrones for the first time after having read the books a while ago.
I just think it’s kind of strange that there are a number of rape scenes in the show that aren’t mentioned anywhere in the book.
I also think it’s strange, while it’s common in the book to kind of mention that rape happens, that the show decides to show it in graphic detail.
Is there something I’m missing here? Why are made up rape scenes necessary? Why are graphic rape scenes necessary?

[SPOILERS] SEASON 5 WAS A TRAVESTY (Rant)
(I still love and respect the show and it's writing but I still believe in what I said. Also please don't read the post if you haven't FINISHED season 5)
Season 5 was probably the biggest massacre of a viewers investment in a show that could ever happen. And let me be clear, I'm not saying any portion was written poorly. I'm making the argument that there's a point where writing can take a backseat to enjoyment, without ruining the story. There was no need for this season to be so jam-packed with depression with no release. I'm assuming George R. R. Martin made it that sad for a reason, because there's no way this change in mood was accidental. I feel this is worse. While I am a firm believer that you should be able to disconnect life and fiction, that doesn't mean I believe a connection shouldn't be formed. A connection allows for sympathy for a character, that conveys itself to the viewer. I say that to say this. Martin couldn't have had respect for his characters because the things that happened to those characters in this season was a cluster of violation.
The scene that made this apparent was Sanza being raped by the Boltin dude. Since like the second season, the threat of this was always present. And with the change she was undergoing under Beilish, it made sense for this to be the season her "purity was tainted". But in that way? Under that roof? In front of a person like a brother to her? It was very distasteful, and combining that with the other things in the season, it was like I was getting shot over and over again. I want to go through a few right now: House Terell's downfall - A family that was comparable to the Lannisters with full members thwarted in one episode because they found a person who could name a tattoo on him/ Serci Degrading - I don't like Serci and wanted justice for the Terells but slurping water off the floor? Walking through the streets naked? All because of a character that was introduced in that episode decided to. I don't find satisfaction in that./ Aria's Storyline - It was cool for what it was. But it was not needed. Aria's storyline has already been unconnected from the main story for seasons, so her sailing to Bravos, while foreshadowed, felt unnecessary. This could easily be reduced to a single episode's time and not take up more air time than needed./ Marcela's Death - Marcela was the most neutral Lannister in the show that we haven't seen in seasons (for the characters in the show years) and when the prospect of her reuniting with her family, there was a sort of warm feeling. So when she gets killed by people she trusts in an act of revenge for another person being dumb, I can't find justification in that.
Jon Snow dying, and even more, that being the last scene was laughable. It was ridiculous that a season filled with such despair would end with the main character dying in the most grimey way possible.
There are just too many scenes and storyline that are so unfavorable, it's a wonder they felt this was ok to package into one season.

[SPOILERS] Cult Of The Artist: A GoT Retrospective
From GRRMs latest blog post suggesting he will never finish GoT:
“There is nothing I like better than storytelling).
I know, I know, for many of you out there, only one of those projects matters.
I am sorry for you. They ALL matter to me.”
————————————————
The cult of the artist is the idea that travels among some circles that art for art’s sake is worth while and maybe even sacred. Compromising to please fans, or working on art you don’t feel passion for is degrading and should be avoided at all costs.
Why is this important to GoT? Because clearly, GRRM has picked up this ideology along the way.
GRRM has no problem degrading his fans or not fulfilling his promises, but doesn’t mind using his fans to parlay his ideas into cold hard cash. Feels a little like an abusive relationship.
To put this in perspective: this is also what happened to Star Wars. Ryan Johnson literally said he make Luke Skywalker an old, cynical, impotent man bc it spoke deeply to the relationship he had with his father.
Ryan wanted to express his highest idea of a Star Wars movie that spoke to him, never mind that millions of fans might not share his experiences with his father or even want their beloved franchise to be used as one dudes personal therapy vehicle.
The same thing happened to GRRM. At some level, he sees compromise with the fans to be degrading and he would rather work on things that make him happy.
Where this ends: for all the chickens
The problem with this ideology is that it is extremely selfish to the point of solipsism. In the past, all great artists knew they had to meet their audiences where they were in order to make great art. Shakespeare discusses the gap between art he likes to produce verses what brings in crowds.
The current ideology, the cult of the artist, that is sweeping across Hollywood and our whole society will eventually fail simply bc it produces bad art.
Would anyone remember the Mona Lisa is Leonardo only finished 4/7 of the painting? Probably not.
Just like 4 courses out of a 7 course meal is not a great small meal. It is a really bad 7 course meal...you don’t even get an entree!
GRRM set out to make a post modern LOTR series that had a fundamentally anti-war message. Maybe he changed his mind along the way and his new ideas cannot fit with his old ideology. Maybe he just ran out of ideas. Maybe he gave it his best, but ppl didn’t like season 8 so he gave up.
Maybe he just doesn’t care.
Whatever the answer, it is clear that GRRM has no intention of finishing this series. He will die soon due to his advanced age and his poor lifestyle habits. He will be forgotten shortly after that.
I wish everyone the best and hope the memes keep coming.
To steal from another great post here: Maybe the real Winds of Winter were the memes, friends and stories we made along the way.

The spinoffs are not fake and your theory is wrong
Seen so many people since the daryl and carol spin-off was announced saying that the spin-off won’t actually exist and it’s a trick to make us think carol and Daryl survive the final season when they don’t. They will survive it and there will be spinoffs, here’s why:
AMC is a publicly traded company. If I wanted to buy shares and become a shareholder I could literally do that right now. AMC can not lie to their shareholders about a new series that isn’t actually going to exist. It’s not as simple as the fake comic covers, and the shareholders are not a group of 5 billionaires in suits sitting around a table, they can be literally anybody including you.
Daryl and Carol spin-off is happening. Negan and Maggie spin-off is happening.

Justified is a great show with two leads who had amazing chemistry. It also has one of the best final lines of dialogue of all time.
Was thinking about Justified earlier and just how good that show really is. Olyphant and Goggins were incredible together. Two of the best leads you could ask for. "We dug coal together" is probably my favorite final piece of dialogue of all time.

I’ve just rewatched ‘Ghosts’ (10x03), and it’s so much better than I remember.
I don’t hear this episode get talked about much, but I think it’s one of the strongest Season 10 episodes. For one thing, the directing, editing and pacing is creative and very engaging. The idea of the Whisperers bringing walkers to Alexandria in constant waves, leaving the group exhausted and delirious for days is a great idea. Carol’s grief and troubled mental state is explored at its best here, as she has convincing hallucinates from her medication that leave the audience as unsure of her of what was real. Also the meeting at the border with Alpha was chilling, and Negan/Aaron was a pairing I never knew I needed to see together.
