Personally for me I think one of the scariest aspects of the Walking Dead zombies is that I feel like a part of you is still there trapped in that zombified body with no control over your actions. It's honestly one of the most unsettling thoughts I have.

Ever since the first episode with Morgan's wife. And of course, later on as we even got the "variant" walkers. I know Jenner explains that the host dies and the brain is jump-started again. But still, it's like we don't KNOW, ya know? It's not like in zombie media you got "revert back" to a human.

So I always have this sinking feeling that the human selves that the walkers were, they kind of still exist within the husk of their former body, helpless as they attack their friends. It's like a prison for eternity.

For example, Shane Walker turns so quickly and almost approaches Rick like as if he's still hostile from their recent standoff. It's like some walkers carry that energy of their emotions even past their death, if that makes sense.

I don't know, just 3 A.M. thoughts lmao.
