The one I dislike the most usually goes along the following:
"All the TWD is to find a group of survivors, build a shelter/communit, have community destroyed, fight zombies, and JUST rince and repeat."
While I understand and can respect this criticism of describing the series, I think it is greatly exaggerated. Yes, the series does this, but only really like twice majority (The Prison and then Alexandria) and in the meantime thoughtfully crafts a serialized post-apocalyptic, zombie series all throughout to me.
I think this view is especially unfair and overly simplistic because it does not recognize what TWD is really great at doing. The series does to shake up its formula and story arcs creatively, connect and even introduce new ideas thematically, and adapts the comic book series with fresh and even improved ideas here and there (ehhh..mostly...or...at least a good anount of times lol but still). Daryl and Carol are still goats.
I can probably think of others, but this is one I still see pop up online and IRL frequently even with regards to the spin offs.
