Kim and Howard

So I got into a discussion with someone on here about how I think the story of Jimmy's second wife cheating on him was a lie.

I think it's a lie because for a step dad would have had to come into the picture when Jimmy's mom was alive. If you recall, Jimmy's mom died while he was still Slippin Jimmy so a step dad would have had to come into the picture, wasn't there for her death, yet still around and a step wife would have to find that guy and sleep with him to hurt Jimmy.

Anyways, I was listening to the Better Call Saul podcast. Vince Gilligan mentioned how he thinks there is something there romantically between Kim and Howard.

So what if the wife cheating was hyperbole? What if it was a girlfriend and instead of a step dad it was someone who was like a step dad aka Howard?

In that scenario, Kim and Saul have a falling out and Kim decides the only way to hurt Jimmy is to sleep with someone he despises. She isn't cheating on him with Chuck (no one wants to fuck Chuck like that). So, she goes with Mr. Pig Fucker aka Howard. Jimmy hates Howard and has good reason to and Kim knows it.

That would also explain why Jimmy is in Omaha. Omaha is the last place Kim would go to so after they fall out, he hides there in anonymity safe in the knowledge she will never go there. Omaha is the last place Kim would ever visit and Jimmy can hide there without fear of accidentally seeing Kim.

Alternatively, he could be there hoping to run into her one day when she goes to visit family. But I think the sadder version is more realistic.
